Iglesias escapes! Not a single strikeout in his two innings and he almost blew it in back to back frames but he gutted it out.

    We're good again!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

oh definitely. Freese leaned into that blatantly.

Cartman, err, Clint Hirdle will find a way to call that head hunting though.

First off, he's Iglesias. He has the best stuff on the team.

Secondly, if Iglesias is ever going to be a closer, give him some chances to close.

He didn't have a good eighth, let him try to close it. And he did.
The first poin is valid, and normally is enough justification. But some nights you just don't have it. Iglesias didn't have it. No need to compound problems and potentially throw the game away because of it.

It is particularly reassuring that other teams blow scoring chances like that in the 9th.

We just watch our team every game, so it seems like it is only us that fails like that.

And by us and we, I mean 'they' and 'them'

Could have pulled him after he hit two guys and no one would say anything

Iglesias has to learn to pitch when he doesn't have his best stuff. And if he's going to close, he needs to face those situations.

I thought it was the one pure "rebuilding" move of the night, to let Iglesias pitch the ninth. That's how you train a potential closer. It involved a degree of risk, true.

Exactly, I see a lot of west coast games and the Giants have been churning out bad relief for weeks

What do I know, but it seems pretty clear that something is wrong with Inglaias, comparing the way he was pitching with the way he is pitching. So, why have him pitch two innings? Indeed, considering where things are at , why pitch him at all?
Granted Price knows a million times more about this than I do, but my record (0-0) is a lot better than Price's.

I'm sort of rooting for the Giants because of JC and I think they should have mortgaged their entire organization to get Chapman. Guess it would have been pretty hard to match the Cub's offer.

I missed the game for a rehearsal dinner. I'd just like to say those unis were a 10 on a 10 point scale for me.

Hopefully the next dinner will be real as I assume you'd still be hungry
