    9/11/16 Reds at Pirates

Reds up 5-0 in the 2nd because it's not on tv and I can't watch.

Holt, Schebler, Duvall and Phillips doing it early on.

Finnegan mixing up a lot of pitches there- 95 MPH fastball, slider , change-up. Moving the ball around too.

Finnegan gave up a single and walked two (three overall on the day so far) in the 2nd but escaped with no runs allowed.

47 pitches through two. He probably shouldn't still be starting at this point, but we know how Bryan Price feels.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The 2016 Pirates with the bases loaded and nobody out are 3-16 (.187) with 7 strikeouts and a .425 OPS. In 21 plate appearances, only 12 runs have scored.

The Pirates, a "playoff contender", started Steven Brault, Drew Hutchison, and Ryan Vogelsong three games in a row..... That pretty much says it all.

Fourth walk by Finnegan to start the 3rd.

I'm usually one of the last to get on board in these innings pitched situations....but I'm in favor of Finnegan being shut down for the season.

Tyler Holt has a double and a triple today. What a world.

Maybe a good day for Joey to get a day off. Now 0-3 and a GIDP when everyone else is hitting

Not wide enough, 5th walk to go with 5 strikeouts.

Finnegan through five shutout innings. Got out of at least two bases loaded situations with key strikeouts.

Not sure if he comes out now, probably ends at five or six innings, but he really showed me something today. Great poise and some terrific stuff in clutch situations.

Selsky batting for Finnegan, five innings total for him.
