Straily narrowly avoids giving up a 3 run HR to Chris Carter in the 6th that would have tied the game, instead a flyout near the wall to end the inning.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

If there is a coaching position that RedsZone hates more than the manager, it's the third base coach. I have never heard anyone on RZ ever say anything nice about any 3B coach the Reds have ever had.

Personally, I think Hatcher has done just fine.

Straily through 7 on 94 pitches.

Jose Havoc looks awfully young without his beard.

    I like it.

Billy has been very good. And even if he hadn't been, considering what he did in 1990, he's entitled to plenty of slack.

Hatch has made some pretty bad sends this year, certainly more than I can remember from Riggleman last year. Smith was done in by the "run on contact" strategy.

I don't think 3rd base coach is a huge deal, but I'd prefer to see Hatch back at 1st.

Guys, sorry if this has been covered, but what is the deal with Scott Schebler's mouth guard? Isn't that very rare in baseball?

Also, I like Schebler a lot.

Cingrani coming in for the 9th in a 6-2 game. Straily went 8 strong, much needed after his last few outings.

Exactly. I love Hatch and hope he is back regardless of who manages next year, just rather see him at 1st.

Straily with 11 starts of 3 hits or less, a Reds record.

That home run was a missile.

Cingrani is pretty lousy. Really had hopes for him.

Reds win again. 62-82 now, just one win the rest of the way avoids a 100 loss season.
