I Like Till There was You a lot. Money is another good one. Just wanted to keep the list short.

Being an old guy, here are some non-Beatles old guy covers I like.

Ain't To Proud To Beg - The Rolling Stones
Heard it Through The Grapevine - Credence Clearwater Revival
    Last Kiss - Pearl Jam
Mr. Tambourine Man - The Byrds
Tell It Like It Is - Heart

Miley Cyrus's version of Jolene is fantastic.

I also like Cake's version of Ruby don't take your love to town.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Just listened to several versions of Ruby. Still like the original the best, but liked the Killers version quite a bit.

If anyone is crazy enough to try it, Skip Leonard Nimoy's version.

I like the Killers version but prefer Cake's.

Spock did ok, that's one of my favorite songs so there really isn't a bad version

It is on the whole probable that we continually dream, but that consciousness makes such a noise that we do not hear it. Carl Jung.

Ten Good Beatles Covers That I Haven't Seen Mentioned Yet:

    1. "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window"- Joe Cocker (Better than "A Little Help From My Friends"?)
    2. "I've Just Seen A Face"- Kenny Rankin (He found a song in there that I don't think even the Beatles knew was there)
    3. "The Fool On The Hill" -Singers Unlimited (A '70s a capella group with a great back story- ask me about it sometime)
    4. "Eleanor Rigby"- Ray Charles
    5. "Got To Get You Into My Life"- Earth, Wind & Fire
    6. "I Will"- Alison Krauss & Union Station
    7. "Lady Madonna"- Fats Domino
    8. "Here, There & Everywhere"- Emmylou Harris
    9. "Norwegian Wood"- Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66
    10. "A Day In The Life"- Wes Montgomery

I'm willing to bet that the worst Beatles cover ever is "Day Tripper" by Mae West...
"In baseball, you don't know nothin'"...Yogi Berra

I've just seen a Face, I Will, Got to Get You Into My Life and Lady Madonna are good ones I knew about. Emmylou also has a good cover of For No One. I still think the worst is Ike and Tina's Get Back ("Get on back").

Some interesting different takes. Al Green doing I want to Hold Your Hand grows on you as you listen. Didn't like it at first, but it's not bad actually. Barbara Streisand does a pretty funny version of Honey Pie. Paul Simon, with David Crosby and Graham Nash did a good version of Here Comes The Sun on one of the TV specials a few years ago. Not sure if it was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or something else. One I really like is Regina Spektor doing a cover of Real Love from Beatles Anthology. It was a stark, haunting take on the song and one I could picture being more in line with Lennon's intent for the song before the rest of the Beatles finished it out.

She also covers Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go." Pretty good- more melodic than his version.

Garth Brooks does a good version of Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love" and he does a kick ass version of Kiss' "Hard Luck Woman."

Speaking of Eleanor Rigby, I've posted this before but it bears repeating (no, this has nothing to do with the White Stripes). Darryl Cotton, Rick Springfield, Beeb Birtles, and, uh, a drummer. I'm sorry; I should find out who the drummer is. I love the way Springfield and the Beeb work together on this.

edit: the drummer is Rick Brewer.

I'd never heard that one before. Awesome!
