Man, I hope this kid keeps progressing. Could be huge. Thought this game was on WLW? I would have really loved if they'd televised tomorrow's Future's game.

Davis went the first three. Lorenzen with a scoreless fourth. Iglesias a scoreless fifth. Drew Storen is on in the sixth.

Senzel greets him with a line single to center.

Tyler Mahle went 5 for the Bats/Futures. He gave up a run on 4 hits in the first, before settling down to allow just 3 hits over the next four innings.

LaValley strikes out swinging. Chris Okey steps to the plate.

Ball in the dirt that Barnhart scoops up, and fires to first to pick Stenzel off.

Okey with a soft liner to short. On to the bottom of the sixth. Ismael Guillon will take over pitching duties.

A ton of changes for the Bats/Futures. Long in at second. Alfredo Rodriguez is the new shortstop. Sparks will be at the hot corner. Trammell is on in left. Jose Siri mans center.

With one out, Kivlehan with a stand-up double off the wall in center.

More Mahle stats. 2 BB and 6 K over those 5 innings.

Elizalde with a rocket that Shed Long picks off, and they easily double Kivlehan off second. End of 6 and the game is knotted up at 1.

Blake Wood will come on for the Reds.

Shed Long is punched out looking for out number one.
Cassidy Brown the batter. Strikes out swinging.
Jose Siri goes down in a blaze of nothing.

Blake Wood overpowered the Futures in that inning.

More Mahle stats. Hamilton singled and scored on a Joey Votto single.

It seems like Cincinnati is the home team.

Guillon is on for his second inning in the bottom of the seventh.

Vincej skies to Siri for out number one.
Stuart Turner swings and then grabs some bench. First K for Guillon.
We have a Scooter sighting with two away. Gennett flies to Siri.

On to the 8th tied at one.

I'm a lot more optimistic than certain posters about the future. I don't hold out much hope for the playoffs this season, but I do hold a lot of hopes for this season in terms or a half-dozen or so youngsters taking huge steps forward that will play big roles in this club's next 5-6 years. If Williams can make one or even two key acquisitions in the offseason, I think a serious run at a 2018 WildCard is possible.

Barrett Astin will work the top of the 8th for the Reds.

Alfredo Rodriguez lines to first. Hit the ball hard.
Taylor Trammell bunts into out number 2. Pronounced truh MELL.
The Punisher stands at the plate. And looks at strike three.

Astin was very impressive per Reds' announcers.

Jimmy Herget will take the ball in the bottom of the 8th.

Reds have a ton of prospects. Seems like some of them have to pan out.

    Herget strikes out Arismendy Alcantara.
Juan Perez up. He singled earlier in the game. Mile-high fly ball here in the 8th. Two down.
Brantly rockets one into the gap for a stand-up double.
Breaking ball catches the corner and Tony Renda is out number three.

    1-1 through 8 full.

    Pitchers dominating.

Robert 'Treasure Island' Stephenson will work the 9th.

Tanner Sparks. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good night. One away.
Gavin LaValley is retired on a dazzling play (slow roller that got past Stephenson) by Juan Perez. Two down.
Tyler Stephenson flies to short right.

    Bottom of the ninth. 1-1.

    Re: Reds @ Bats 3/31

Tanner Rainey on for the Futures.

Patrick Kivlehan will lead things off. And Rainey walks him.
Elizalde reaches on a force. A couple of poor throws on that potential double-play ball. One out. Rainey with a errant pick-off toss. Runner moves up into scoring position. Error was charged to the first baseman. So, not a poor throw.
Superfluous flails away on a ball in the dirt. Two down.
Elizalde steals third. No throw. Fielder's indifference, I guess.
    Rainey strikes out Turner.

Game over: Nobody wins, nobody loses. Everyone lines up to kiss their sister. 1-1.

    Only 10,800 in attendance.
