Would rather see Price getting his full roster involved -- day after night, right out of spring training. Gennett and/or Alcantara should be in there today, IMO. Price has too much Dusty Baker in him in this regard, I think.

I think Dusty liked to get his favorite bench guys involved TOO much if anything, but I agree there wouldn't be any harm in giving a regular a day off. I'm seeing a lot of other teams do it.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Other than Votto who is established enough to really warrant or even want a day off after just being off Tuesday? The Reds have a bunch of guys that I'm sure want to face scrubs like Clay.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

Should be lots of run scoring opportunities for the good guys today, since it's obviously unnecessary for Buccholz to coat himself in his patented "sunscreen"

Who are they going to be in there for? The reason we traded Phillips and Frazier is so we could see what Peraza and Suarez can do on a daily basis. I'm not saying they have to play 162 games but they should wait a bit before giving them a day off. Believe me, there will be plenty of days in June, July and August where they can literally cool their heels while others play in 90+ temperatures.

We would be in a tight race playing the rubber match against the Cardinals and sure enough Dusty trots out a lineup with Bruce, Phillips, Cozart, and Frazier on the bench. It was clockwork. I am actually glad to not see that kind of lineup today.

Judging by the crowd turnout Rookie shouldn't feel any more pressure here than in AAA. Yikes.

Nava HR, that wasn't ideal. 1-0 Phils.

It's 40 degrees and windy. It's absolutely freezing down by the river. No thanks to going to the ballpark today
