What's there to say? We all know he is the best pitcher in the league.

Let's face it our starting pitching is VERY bad and our bullpen while good has "over performed" and is due for a regression to the mean. DVR is your friend...FF thru our pitching.

There is no "mean" established for our bullpen as most of it is new, so it's impossible for it to regress to something that doesn't exist. What they have done is more likely what they are than anything else.

Also, when it comes to pitchers who aren't starters, they are extremely inconsistent from year to year. You hope to get two to three good years from them. It's why they aren't Starters. You hope to minimalize the not-so-good efforts by minimalizing their innngs and placing them in situations they are more likely to succeed. Collectively, as a bullpen, the Manager can positively or negatively effect their seasonal results, but I feel that it's the Pitching Coach who has the greatest impact on their results, beyond the pitchers themselves, of course.

Did Patton actually say that, or was it a line in a movie by George C. Scott?

I believe he actually said it. George C. Scott's speech in the movie Patton was a composite of a series of motivational speeches General Patton made to the Third Army in the days prior to D-Day. (The speech in the film was edited and cleaned up, as Patton's language was much more colorful than what was allowed in Hollywood at the time.)
