[QUOTE=M2;3791780]Trust me on this (because I've seen him play a bunch), stay away from Brady Tkachuk. He's not a bad player, but he does not generate a lot of offense./QUOTE]

The Carolina Hurricanes have made up their mind about who they'll select with the second overall pick in the 2018 draft on June 22.

With Swedish blue-liner Rasmus Dahlin a virtual lock to be taken by the Buffalo Sabres in the top spot, the Hurricanes will choose from the best of the rest. As it stands, Carolina has its sights set on Russian sniper Andrei Svechnikov, general manager Don Waddell told Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer.

While it's possible Carolina could trade the No. 2 pick, Waddell said he'd only do so for an offer that "blows us away." The Hurricanes haven't received such an offer to this point.

DC is celebrating this championship in a big way. I'm happy for their long suffering fans. They had a lot of heartbreak over the years but now they can enjoy this championship even more.

The Caps win the Stanley Cup? Maybe these are end times.

Victory parade today in DC. I saw people on the Metro at 6 am wearing Capitals red already headed down there. The team has had quite a time parading around the cup. They are really enjoying this championship.

Caps coach Barry Trotz has resigned.

The reporter in the background found out about this during a Senate hearing.

I'm hearing Trotz sought 5 years at $5 million per and there wasn't a whole lot of movement off those numbers. That salary would have put Trotz on par with Julien and behind Quenneville and Babcock, who earn $6 million and $6.25 million, respectively.

Today at 1:30 p.m. EST and 8:00 p.m. EST, NHLHD will televise 90-minute broadcasts of the 2013 Blackhawks and 2015 Blackhawks Championship seasons, for those Blackhawks fans out there.
