    RIP Martin Landau

Gone to his last impossible mission:

Martin Landau, 89, a character actor who starred in the 1960s television show "Mission: Impossible" and won an Oscar for playing Bela Lugosi in the movie "Ed Wood," died Saturday, his publicist Dick Guttman said Sunday night.

Landau died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles following "unexpected complications during a short hospitalization," Guttman said in a statement.
I never got into Mission Impossible. I'll remember him most in his turn as a kindly law professor in the poker movie Rounders.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

By the time I watched MI, he was gone. He showed up not much later on Space 1999, though, along with Barbara Bain.

George Romero also died in the past few days. Seems as if we've moved on to older celebs this year.

great actor. he was a bad evil man in North by Northwest.

"I chose to play Leonard as a gay character. It was quite a big risk in cinema at the time. My logic was simply that he wanted to get rid of Eva Marie Saint with such a vengeance, so it made sense for him to be in love with his boss, Vandamm, played by James Mason. Every one of my friends thought I was crazy, but Hitchcock liked it. A good director makes a playground and allows you to play. "

"Landau also was an admired acting teacher who taught the craft to the likes of Jack Nicholson. And in the 1950s, he was best friends with James Dean and, for several months, the boyfriend of Marilyn Monroe. "She could be wonderful, but she was incredibly insecure, to the point she could drive you crazy," he told The New York Times in 1988."

Forgot about Crimes and Misdemeanors. Allen's best movie IMO.

I will always remember him as the Captain on Space 1999.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.
