Just got home from my parents 50th Anniversary party. Mom's a huge Joey Votto fan. If Joey can get Cozart a donkey, the least he can do is hit a homerun on my mom's 50th anniversary for her.

It's not like scooter has ever hit lefties (even this year during his high performance). To me, he's a pure platoon guy. I'd probably never start scooter against them unless there was no viable alternative.

Btw the Peraza/scooter debate is probably more about the best course for perazas development than anything.

I'd have Mesoraco before Gennett, but I expect Scooter will do OK against O'Grady.

Looking at radar, it appears a front is moving through the area. Storms along the front have produced lightning and tornadoes. Better to hold off until the activity has passed, even if it isn't doing anything directly over GABP.

Update: We continue to wait out the storms approaching from the west. Umpires have asked to regroup in 15 minutes.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

First pitch at 8:05. Looks like the storm is barely going to clip downtown.

Not so critically of today's delay in isolation but yesterday's 2 hour delay when combined with today's makes me question who is in charge of these decisions.

Reds don't seem enthusiastic to play ball, seem to be prolonging has much as possible.

RobSteve at 95-96 mph to start the game. Interesting to note as he was often 92-93 in his big league starts last year.

I'm guessing it has more to do with a potential lightning hazard for both players and fans.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.
