Romano inducing weak contact but the balls are finding holes. It happens. Combine that with an errant throw from Duvall and you've got a couple runs on the board.

damn, McCutchen robs Peraza of extra bases
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Nothing going right for Big Sal so far.

4-0 Pirates after 3. No walks or HRs yet allowed by Sal, mostly just a bunch of base hits. Live and die by contact.

Keep running Sal out every 5th day. He has 2 months to show he belongs.

Down early. Bad prescription for the Reds. They've won the series, but I've enjoyed switching over to AT&T Sports Net to see the Pirate TV guys cry.

Scooter's looking pretty rough at the plate lately. Seems to be pressing a bit.

It's a Pirates game thread, so I feel like someone should point out just how overrated Gregory Polanco is. For some reason, standing near McCutchen and Marte managed convince people he must be good too, and he's not.

He was good last year and is still young enough that you can dream for more but yeah he's not a superstar or anything.

I know folks on RedsZone will flip out, but Alcantara should start at 2B against the next LH starter, just to give Scooter a break.
