Big Sal getting whipped on by this club......just really sucks since we have to count on some of these guys.

I think Tucker's lack of foot speed cost the Reds a run there on the inning ending double play. When Billy hit that ball up the middle he thought it was a hit and he wasn't going anywhere with Tucker ahead of him on the bases. Consequently he slacked of a bit at the beginning, and then when he saw it fielded and went full blast it was too late to beat the double play and score a run and keep the inning going.

Outside of Castillo, I have little optimism regarding the Reds starting pitching for several years.

Injuries and just plain lack of control seems to haunt all these guys.....sucks since we have a lineup to contend

Big Sal works out of a big jam.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Sal's shown flashes. Hasn't been like Reed, Garrett, and BobSteve where he's getting bludgeoned every outing

    It's a major concern.

With patience, I think a number of them will succeed. Some in the rotation, some in the pen.

They are just raw, that's all. Young and raw.

23-24 years old for a pitcher, particularly a starter, is very young.

Meh, Garrett showed early flashes, but I guess it's sorta splitting hairs.

Yeah but the flashes were washed away by constant thrashing. Romano has had struggles but nothing yet like Amir got.

True, but at least like the other two Amir has shown tangible evidence that he can be good as a major league pitcher. I know there's been that discussion here lately that guys have to show *something* early if they're ever gonna be good.

I mean it's still possible Sal starts getting his teeth kicked in, it just hasn't happened yet lol

Romano better in the third and fourth, helped by the Hamilton catch.

He seems more relaxed and workmanlike now, focused on making good pitches.
