    8/22/2017 Reds vs Cubs

Reds are back in action tonight against the Cubs. Cozart is back too with all the rest of the gang we have to come to know and love in 2017.

Here is the enemy lineup. Jon Jay leading off. I just finished a biography on him. He was one the more underrated founding fathers. The book didn't mention he could play baseball too.

At this point, I would be good if the Reds just dumped Cozart for nothing if there are no offers. Let's at least get Peraza ABs.

Also wouldn't be mad if Billy suffers his typical September injury so Winker and/or Ervin have to play.

    Geesh.

I want Billy to get a full season without major injury absences

I wanted Peraza to get 500-550 PA this year...looks like he will

I don't get all the Price hate where the lineup is concerned.....I get it we all wanna see Winker but Schebler is only 27 I think and is a big time threat and twice the defender Winker is.....you wanna see Peraza? Go back and watch the first 100 games. scooter is also only 27 and is having a tremendous season

I think Price feels he owes it to the league to play his regulars/veterans against contenders.

There may also be some pressure to beat the Cubs at home, or at least stay in the games.

When the Reds play the Mets 7 games, I'm sure you'll see more of the youngsters.

You mean like when Schebler/Hamilton/Duvall got 8 of the 9 outfield starts in atlanta?

    From Rotoworld...

Ben Zobrist has been scratched from the Cubs' starting lineup Tuesday.

Zobrist had trouble renting a car to drive from Nashville to Cincinnati, where the Cubs open a series against the Reds on Tuesday night. Ian Happ is now starting at second base and batting fifth versus right-hander Homer Bailey.

I'd bet so. We were. We had no trouble getting into Tenn on I-65(although there were a couple slowdowns for construction), and had picked our spot(CrossPlains, Tenn) to watch 3 hrs ahead of totality. We were in our car and trying to head for home within 15 minutes of the end of totality. We suffered about a 15 minute delay getting back onto I-65 and the 2nd exit south of the Kentucky border. From there we suffered 3 hrs of delay till we got on open road on the Blue Grass Pkwy to Lexington. Between 11p and midnight we heard an Atlanta station talking about post eclipse traffic tie-ups there then. Must have been no rental cars or flights out available today in Nashville!

Thom throwing shade at Votto saying he was in base a lot on the road trip but only drove in 3 runs with the HR he hit.
