It wouldn't surprise me if the Pirates (or whoever he is playing for) move McCutchen to either LF or RF again next year.

McCutchen and Jaso collide as Schebler flys out to CF for a SF.

Too bad they didn't knock each other out.

Really bad planning to have Mahle's parents interviewed during Chad Wallach's first MLB AB.

I do remember him in right, I believe, earlier. My in-laws always complained about his fielding and now I see what they mean in this series.

I've always thought that stupid defensive metrics have made McCutchen seem way worse than he actually is. I would say that he is average to a little below average in center; however, defensive metrics say that he has been one of the worst defensive centerfielders in baseball. I just find that hard to believe.

A friend of mine is a Pirates fan, and I've told him for the last three years that the Pirates and McCutchen would both be better served if he moved to either LF or RF, and served only as a backup CF (much like Eric Davis did later in his career with the Reds). It would cut down on the wear and tear on his body.

    His pitches seem really crisp.

Marte beats out an infield single. 1st and 3rd, 1 out for The Pirates.
