Wandy gets the job done even though Thom kept putting him down throughout the at-bat.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I think he simply could use a couple of days off to recharge the battery. He plays almost every game. Nobody (not even Duvall) talks about it, but his diabetes has to have an effect. I've coached diabetic players in high school, and I know it's not the same, but there were days when they just didn't have any energy. But a day or two later they would be just fine.

I mean I'm fine with giving him some more rest, but this is simply regression.

Would Duvall fit better as someone's designated hitter?

Exactamundo! Give Ervin and/or Kivlehan a start or two in LF, and let Duvall take a breather.

It's likely regression similar to the way another batter would "regress" while playing on a gimpy ankle.

Not following you here pal. It's regression in that he's much more of a .795 OPS guy like he was last year than an .850 OPS guy like he's been before this slump.

And Duvall regresses a ball out of the park!
