Reds should get Turner more in the mix even once Barnhart is back, IMO.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

You never know. The milkman might have had a say in it.

I said back in ST that his secondary stuff is better than what the other young guys have. Still true, with the exception of Castillo's change up. The narrative around Stephenson has never been very nuanced, and has failed to acknowledge that the swing-and-miss stuff is unmistakable.

Today's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Stuart Turner, who was 1-for-3 with a BB and a 2-run HR in his first start since returning from paternity leave.

last time the boys had a winning month was 7/16 when they were 13-11. The future looks bright.

I was at the game today and I think it might have been my most enjoyable game all season. Beautiful day, lots of action. Group of school kids were cheering their hearts out spontaneously, something we Reds fans are awful at at GABP, IMO

Votto gives his bat to a young fan after homer.

Before coming to bat in the bottom of the 7th, Votto pointed to Walter -- also known as Superbubz -- a young fan sitting in the front row that is stricken with a rare disease known as neuroblastoma.
After Votto homered, he came around and high-fived Walter before giving him his bat.
Before the game was over, Votto also changed into a new uniform top and gave Walter his game-used jersey, too:

After learning that Walter's parents said that the gift meant the world to the young boy, Votto told MLB.com's John Fay, "That's all that matters."
