Stephenson had a high leverage outing. He pitched out of a bases loaded no out jam, and other jams.

I thought Price erred in sending him out for the seventh.

But it's really silly to keep arguing this, we all know that Price likes to push the starters a bit. He sees utility in stretching them out an extra inning. Some agree, some don't.

I do think the bullpen is now pretty weak and that has a role in it. But basically that's his philosophy and he was re-hired, so it's a futile debate.

Perhaps confidence was the wrong word but you're pushing your luck by bringing back a guy on 92 pitches who has walked 5 batters.

When a guy is on full cruise control like Castillo, that's one thing. Bob had a nice game but on cruise control he was not.

Until he progresses a little further, I'm gonna get him out of there in last night's situation every time.

Did you not see the interview with Neil's dad earlier? Pretty cool interview and insights of the final day of Clemente.

Shackleford had some tough outings earlier, but he's been good of late. Has a K in the ninth, let's see how he does with Braun.

Tapper back to the mound, one out to go for a sweep.

    And it's complete.

You know the last few years at the end of the year we'd have some guys (or the staff in general) where we could say "you know what if ____ takes the next step we could have something here."

But it's different this year. We've had a great stretch of starts and actually seeing what the next step looks like. I'm not sold that Mahle, Romano and Stephenson are rotation locks...but we are onto something here.

Now don't rain on my parade.

Now we just need to wrap them in bubble wrap for the winter.

You made it seem like Price was punishing him by sending him back out there for another inning.

Well punishing in the sense that it was likely to go poorly and you don't need to push kids so far physically. Not in some sort of "psychological damage" way.

Also I've updated my meme so "dad" says "Bryan" now, keep an eye out for it in the next few weeks. It's just a little gallows humor, not really meant to be a reasoned argument.
