    RIP Robert Guillaume

Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

RIP Robert Guillaume. I always enjoyed his show, Benson. It was one of my staple shows I watched very week during my younger years.

Guillaume was first a big Broadway star. In 1976, he starred in an all Black production of Guys and Dolls that is still my favorite version of the show. A much bigger talent than most TV fans realized.

I loved the Benson sit com but he was also a very talented baritone. I saw him live at the Cincinnati Pops

Benson was a spin-off of Soap, and far more successful.

He was also in Sports Night.

Gov. Gatling lived to 94 and Lt. Gov. Dubois made it to 89. Pretty good run for that ticket.
