That's what is called "changing the subject".

You mentioned "field conditions" of 120 degrees where the athletes play. I responded with "court conditions" of 120+ where the athletes play.

It's called knowing that Orlando runs significantly hotter than Melbourne. It can get extremely hot Melbroune. It will get extremely hot in Orlando. It's just about the worst place in the U.S. to pick to hold an 8-week summer soccer tournament, which, as it so happens, was the subject.

Yeah, but at least it's really humid in Orlando and it only rains every afternoon that time of year.

    Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS

Teams would each play three games in what could broadly be called a “World Cup-style” group stage at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex near Orlando, Fla. Those three games would all count toward the regular-season standings.

At the end of the group-stage, teams would move on to a 16-team knockout tournament where they’d play as many as four more games. Those other games would NOT count toward the regular-season.

In addition to some sort of cash prize and the glory of being crowned champion of a trumped-up preseason tournament, the winner will also get a spot in Concacaf Champions League.

The longest any team is expected to be in Orlando is six weeks, with teams eliminated earlier in the tournament going home once they’re done.

Those ping-pong balls seem like they were less than random.

I actually watched it, it wasn't an actual draw. The seeded teams had a representative that just picked numbers. Not to say they didn't tell them what to pick or whatever, because there are absolutely some TV friendly match ups there.

Seemingly, although this entire thing is going to be a total crap shoot in the group stage at least.

yeah, they had to know who was where. Look at all of the rivalries that are in the same groups.
The television crews left and about 10 reporters remained in the room. That's when Price took his turn doing the talking.
What followed was a five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade. The final tally was 77 uses of the "F" word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

Exactly. Who's good and bad in MLS can shift wildly year-to-year.

There's eight teams you know will be good. Just like the NBA, MLB and the NFL.

MLS teams that have made the playoffs each of the past five seasons (and it's stunningly easy to make the playoffs):

    Red Bulls
    Seattle
    Atlanta (3 years in league)
LAFC (2 years in the league)

The up and down in that league is insane. In any given year, you could be great or you could suck.

It’s the best part of MLS. There is definitely an upper tier but it’s still very flexible and there isn’t a dominant team or two like most global soccer leagues have.
