The giant "fan" screen is interesting with about 24 live videos of fans on the side of the field.

Literally 5 seconds into a live interview with POR's coach in the 82nd minute LAX scores, but they are checking the offsides.

    Offsides.

Don't think the Coach will be OK with a second interview.

    Another goal by LAX...another offsides.

Bad pass by a POR Defender allowed LAX to go on attack with a man advantage. Easy goal.

    2-1 POR 88th min.

Blanco was MOM. Williamson was useful. New backline - did well for most of the game, but ran out of gas at the end.
Chicharito missed a penalty, missed a sitter from inside 10 yards but finally scored. Meh.

Yeah, they were working at a different speed the 2nd Half, though they had no excuse to be tired as LAX controlled the ball for the first 55 minutes. LAX is big. POR had to use its quickness to try to overcome it. With the tie between HOU and LAFC, things are looking good for the Timbers in Group F.

    Blanco is very very good.

Chicharito stinks. He made a nice run to get that goal, but the rest of the game (and the 2 they played back in March) have just been brutal. If that is what he is, the Galaxy are in a lot of trouble.

That said, outside of getting bossed around by Blanco on the second goal, I thought the defense for LA was pretty solid. The drop off from JDS/Corona in the midfield to Kitchen/Klejsten is pretty noticeable, but those guys did ok. If Chicarito hadn't been completely awful the Galaxy really should have won that game.

Yes. Cincinnati just beat Atlanta 1-0. Atlanta only had 10 men for the last 65 minutes, but still. Shocker.

    https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/ma...ncinnati/recap

This knocks ATL out of the tournament (technically, no, reallistically, yes).

Also out: NYCFC and MIA (technically, no, reallistically, yes).

    76' – CIN – Frankie Amaya

    Man of the Match
This match screamed out for one defining moment. So up stepped Frankie Amaya.

The 19-year-old midfielder had been buzzing around disrupting play and progressing the ball before turning into the match-winner in the 76th minute. This angle of his winner is worth a few replays.

    Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS

Darlington Nagbe completed all 37 of his passes in the first half.

    COL 2
    NYRB 0

COL looks like the #1 Seed punching their ticket into the next round.

    TOR 4
    MON 3

    Neither team looked very good.

Columbus is good. Very strong midfield and Zardes looks like he’s progressing from being an all hustle player to showing some nice skill and smart runs.

    Winner of POR/HOU advances today.

RSL/MIN managed a draw yesterday, so they'll need to wait another game to try to advance.
