Don’t worry Insane. There will be a Coronavirus pandemic that will limit his innings.

Fangraphs had some very interesting quotes from Boddy on Hunter Greene's progress here https://blogs.fangraphs.com/sunday-n...hunter-greene/

I do not know if Boddy is prone to exaggeration, but I was excited to hear that he believes that Hunter now has a plus-plus slider and is sitting 97.

It doesn't come as any surprise to me that an elite athlete like Hunter Greene would be able to develop a plus plus slider with the tools and coaching he has access to with the Reds.

James Baldwin is a good coach/teacher who was Pensacolas pc for a while when first hired. He's pre Johnson/ Boddy but seems to fit quite well in the new coaching culture. Thats what really excites me - not just Greene but the raw kids like this Alex Johnson that are going to go thru the new regimes teaching from the git.

Anyone else intrigued with the non-comment about Johnson? This was a big 6'6" guy. I almost felt like Boddy wanted to talk about him but talked himself out of it.

One of the big upsides of the minors being shut down this year is Hunter Green is getting a full instructional season. I like his chances of becoming what we dream he could be far better than I did four months ago.

I'll add no in game temptation to over throw while he's still recovering from TJ.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I remember when he was drafted. IIRC that is exactly what everyone took it as “this is no risk huuuuuge reward” type arm.

If Boddy can get Johnson to reach his potential it would be huge.
What would you say.....ya do here?

This may be the absolute most positive outcome of the entire Reds season.

I have often wondered if Greene's appearance in the minor league all star game a couple seasons back when he lit up the radar and everyone was talking his triple digit fastballs, if that appearance was where he actually injured himself.

At any rate, a 96-98 mph fastball will "git-er-done" as long as you have a decent breaking ball and off-speed pitch to go with it. I love the hard heat as well as the next guy, but if you can throw a good change, it sells the heat more effectively.
