    6/1/18 - Reds @ San Diego

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The 4-man OF rotation is dead.

Long live the new 4-man OF rotation.

I wish there was a better option for leadoff.....Id like to see him play and hit down in the order without any cares or pressure....seems like guys are often very conscious of being the "lead off" guy

Probably Manfred. The tanking was getting too obvious.

This was not Riggleman’s call alone. General manager Nick Krall and special assistant Buddy Bell met with Riggleman Wednesday.
Could just be Duvall feeling under the weather or something to that effect, but I guess we'll see if it's a quick u-turn.

My guess Winker tonight is because of San Diego.

It’s not a stadium in which you want to play for home runs. A line drive hitter can get multiple hits there.

Possible Rig was overruled on the outfield rotation, no idea, but I would want Winker hitting against a RHP in San Diego.

Is the SD outfield less acres than Denver and Arizona also?

I looked it up and Colorado is by far the biggest(0.18 acres bigger than the average of 2.49 acres), Arizona is 6th at 0.07 acres bigger, and SD is right at the average. There only 11 parks bigger than the average and 7 are in the NL, including 6 of the 7 biggest!

It varies by season, but in 2017 Petco Park had the second lowest “park factor” for home runs. In other words, it was considered the second most difficult place to hit homers in the majors.

By season do you mean spring, summer, fall; or 2015, 2016, 2017?

I've been thinking acres; the more acres, the more chance of exposing poor outfielders.

No, I’m referring to the year. SD is a notoriously bad home run park, but some years its “park factor” for homers is worse than other years. Last season, 2017, it was second worst for home run hitting.

I’m guessing that’s why Duvall is out and Winker is in tonight against a RHP.

It’s more about how the ball carries.
