AlfRod is back in Daytona and playing shortstop. He's walked and struck out in his two PAs so far today.
He hits a 2 run double in his third PA.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Cash Case came to the plate 6 times today, and reached base safely all 6. 4 hits and 2 walks. Batting average up to .300.
Michael Beltre back in the lineup after a week so off. 1-3.
Robert Stephenson is most likely done for the night. He sits at 92 pitches. 7 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 5 K.

Stephenson's line is both encouraging and disappointing - if only that was 3 hits 3 walks instead of 5 walks 1hit. Those durn walks still worry me but its encouraging his stuff seems really hard to square up
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

Back from the game. I'm no Doug, but my thoughts:
Cash Case could really be something if he adds some muscle. He's thin, but man did hit the ball hard today. All line shot singles. The first two came on 0-2 pitches, and he went with both pitches and lined the ball into left-CF.
Pablo Manzenero made a heads-up play advancing to 3rd while the catcher was debating the safe call at home. He also looks like a player.
Zeke White had a "Billy-esque" K but he absolutely ripped the ball two times for doubles. He also tagged another ball that the LF made a very nice play on to rob of another extra base hit. Seemed like he was seeing the ball extremely well.
The defense, by both teams, was atrocious. Simply awful. Pitching was horrible too. The Ospreys had a pitcher I thought would be impossible for the Mustangs to hit, particularly lefties. He was a sub-mariner, slow tossing lefty. He did well in his first inning, but the hit him hard in his second 2/3. At that point they brought in the CF to pitch, who was throwing mid-60's, but got the one guy he faced to pop up. He seemed the happiest of all players to come off the field that inning.
Bret Spillane came in to PH and go plunked. It didn't look good. He stayed on the bases, but did not go back in at 1B.
