Down in the Dominican, Pedro Moreno hurled six innings of 1-hit, 1-run, 1-walk and 5-k baseball, and got a no decision. Over his last 6 starts, covering 30.2 innings, Moreno has compiled an ERA of just 1.76. Moreno is playing his first season of professional baseball at the age of 20. He stands 6'5/200 and delivers BBs with his right arm.

A quick review of the standings of the Reds' farm clubs:

Louisville (53-68) - The Bats are firmly ensconced in last place, and have no chance at all of making the playoffs. Their tragic number is 3.
Pensacola (62-59) - The Wahoos are a smidgen over .500 on the season. More importantly, they own a record of 32-21 in the second half, and are holding on to a 3-game lead in the division. Playoff chances at this point are above average.
Daytona (61-59) - The Tortugas are also just a tad over .500 on their 2018 campaign. They have lost 5 in a row. And they could not care less. Daytona is playoff-bound thanks to their winning their division in the first half of the year.
Dayton (53-69) - The Dragons are not having a good year, first half or second. An extremely strong, and equally unlikely, fashion and they might make the playoffs. Don't bet the house (or anything really).
Billings (29-28) - Another team just barely keeping their head above water in 2018. The Mustangs are trying to go worst to first. They finished in the cellar in the first half, but lead the divisional pack by 4.0 games in the second half with a record of 14-5. Pencil them in lightly.
Greeneville (23-29) - In spite of a 3-game winning streak, Greeneville is quite likely to miss the playoffs. They are 7.5 games back with 13 remaining. And they would have to catch and pass 4 clubs to make it to the postseason. Nope.
AZL Reds (9-36) - No. Just no. They finished last in the first half. They are currently bringing up the rear in the second half. Their longest winning streak of the year is 2 games. And their tragic number is down to 1. No.
DSL Reds (30-35) - Not a horrid record. But since the D-Backs Dominican entry decided to play at a .667 clip, they have already been eliminated.

Collectively, the Reds entrants have gone 320-383 (.455). 3 teams just barely over .500, and 3 (max) possible playoff squads.

Tejay Antone has been spotted a 4-run lead even before taking the mound. It did not come easily. Isabel, Stephenson and Rodriguez were all hit by pitches in the top of the first.

Dayton put up 3 in the bottom of the first. India doubled in one and Andy Sugilio followed with a 2-run big fly (4).

Louisville is being delayed by rain in Charlotte.

    - - - Updated - - -

Chris Okey is hitting an even .200. So, that's worth noting.

    - - - Updated - - -

Daytona is leading 8-2. Taylor Trammell has doubled and tripled.

Ibandel Isabel has made an error and completed an unassisted double play. He has also scored 3 times. But, that's not what the fans are looking for.

Austin Orewiler is pitching like nobody's watching. Which is probably pretty much the case. Dragons up by a pair plus one early.

    - - - Updated - - -

King Richardson the Lyon-hearted has given up a pair in the first. Greeneville is floating facedown in the moat, 2-0.

It's a palindrome day. Expect the unexpected. Alfredo Rodriguez singles. It had to happen.

Dayton SS Jose Garcia is 1 for 2. His average is now .240. Represents a career high for him. He was hitting .178 after April.

    But his splits have been

    April .178
    May . 211
    June .234
    July . 286

His average in August is only .273 but has a .814 OPS, by far his highest OPS month.

After a rough adjustment to start the season, Debby Santana is swinging a hot stick. August totals: .362/.412/.745/1.156. Santana slugged a grand slam in last night's affair.
