Louisville gets on the board first, plating 2 unearned runs in the top of the first. Josh VanMeter doubled to lead things off. An error scored him. Hernan Iribarren drove home the second run. Taylor Sparks was gunned down at the plate to end the inning.

Not a great sign that Lucas Sims has caught gopheritis since coming over to the Reds org. 6 HRs in 73 innings in Gwinnett, 5 so far in 28.1 innings for Louisville.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The Bats come up short 5-3. Lucas Sims gave up 3 earned in 5 innings. Brandon Finnegan pitched a third of an inning, allowing a hit and walking 2. He took the loss.

Hernan Iribarren went 4-4. Iribarren has heated up down the stretch, going 11 for his last 25 (.440).

Dayton is on the verge of being eliminated from any postseason action. They are batting in the bottom half of the 9th, trailing 9-5.

John Ghyzel got blasted. He entered the game with the score tied at 4. He left the game with the Dragons down 9-4.

Alejo Lopez chipped in a single and 2 doubles (.327).
Andy Sugilio laced 3 singles and a double. Sugilio does not want the season to end. He is 15 for his last 34 (.441).
Leandro Santana and JD Williams added 2 hits and a walk apiece.
Jeter Downs homered (12) and walked.

Billings brought their hitting shoes. They lead 8-2, scoring 7 runs in the third.

James Marinan started and worked 3 scoreless. 3 hits, 0 walks and 4 strike outs. He has allowed just 3 earned runs over his last 27 innings.

Lots and lots of hits for the Mustangs, including a grand slam (1) off the bat of Leonardo Seminati.

Nice outing by Ricky Karcher for Greenville: 6 IP, 2 ER so far. He is at only 74 pitches, so he is probably coming out for the 7th.

The sticks have only produced a single run on 2 hits. G-Reds are trailing 2-1.

Billings has put up 13 runs on 19 hits in 7 innings of play, as they continue to kick Helena in the Handbasket.

Scott Moss is on the hill for Daytona, so naturally they are winning. 1-0 through 3 innings this time.

Greeneville just things up at 2 on a poke (3) by Justin Bellinger.

Tony Santillan is on the mound this afternoon. That's a good thing. No score after 1 inning.

What a difference a day makes. Leonardo Seminati came into the game with these numbers: .158/.158/.211/.369.
After going 4 for 5, including a grand slam, Seminati is posting these numbers: .297/.297/.458/.755.

Prophecy Time: Leonardo Seminati will be such a huge star for this organization, that fans will start referring to the team as the Seminati Reds. It's already preordained.

Would like to se Moss strike out some batters in the 5th and 6th innings tonight.

Also, why is Finnegan pitching this year? He is either hurt and needs rest or he really sucks and should be working in some sort of Spring Training capacity until he's ready to face l8ve competition. He hasn't been ready to face live competition all season.

Tony Santillan was nails, but it might not be enough. Santillan yielded a lone run on a solo shot in 6.2 innings. He punched 8.
Pensacola hitters have managed just 5 hits, all singles.
