Minor League Games of 9/4/18 (Tuesday)

Daytona is playing Game One of a best-of-three series.

Tejay Antone started, and to be honest, got shellacked. He surrendered 6 runs (five earned) in 4.1 innings.
Ty Boyles has come out of the bullpen to stem the bleeding for the last 2.2 innings.

Daytona was trailing 6-2 at one point in the contest, but has pulled back to within a run at 6-5. The game is in the top of the 8th.

Taylor Trammell and Courtney Hawkins have both gone deep for Daytona.

Billings is resting some folks tonight, including Bautista, Manzanero, Mount and Harris.

Matt Pidich will make his first start of the season, as the Mustangs attempt to set their rotation for the playoffs. Pidich has compiled a 5.61 ERA out of the bullpen. But has a pretty solid 28/8 K/BB for the year.

Daytona has just tied the game at 6 apiece, as Alfredo Rodriguez doubled in a run with 2 outs. Yay!

Stuart Fairchild followed with a ground ball single to left, but Alfredo Rodriguez was gunned down at the plate.

Boyles out. Diaz in. First batter sends one over the wall. 7-6 bad guys, heading into the 9th.

Daytona goes about as quickly and as quietly as possible in the top of the 9th, and now face 1-0 deficit in the series. Games Two and Three will be played at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

Fairchild singled and doubled.
Trammell singled and homered.
Bruce Yari walked twice.
Stephenson singled twice.
Hawkins walked, singled and homered.
Ventura singled and walked.

Billings has this one well in control, if such an animal exists in the Pioneer League.

Matt Pidich was stout on the mound: 5 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K.
Moises Nova came on to work the 6th, and left after a couple of batters with what was described as an 'arm injury'.
Connor Ryan finished out the inning.

Offensively, the club has generated 6 runs on 6 singles.
