Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

Reynolds played football at Florida State and was a teammate and roommate of Lee Corso there. At one time Reynolds was a big deal in the movie and entertainment business. I liked the Smokey and the Bandit movies back when they were out. He also played the part of a porn producer/director very well in Boogie Nights. He was also a frequent guest on Johnny Carson. He didn't do too bad in the lady business either. He was either married or with Sally Field and Loni Anderson, among others, at different times or maybe at the same time, who knows? RIP Burt Reynolds

Reynolds was married twice, once to Judy Carne of "Laugh-In" fame and once to Loni Anderson, both marriages ending in divorce. He had described Sally Field as the love of his life, "the one that got away."
At the peak of his career in the 1970s he combined swagger with a charming wink. He was a frequent and very funny guest on "The Tonight Show" and sometimes guest hosted in Johnny Carson's absence.
