    9/14/18 Reds at Wrigley

    Schebler - RF
    Peraza - SS
    Votto - 1B
    Suarez - 3B
    Gennett - 2B
    Ervin - LF
    Casali - C
    Harvey - P
    Hamilton - CF

Reds will be facing Cole Hamels, a pitcher that they have not have a lot of success with. Hamels is 11-1 lifetime against Cincinnati, with a 1.86 ERA. Interesting Hamels trivia: In five starts against the White Sox, Cole has struck out 37 batters, and walked just 1. No current Red has gone deep against Hamels. He has allowed 6 lifetime home runs to Cincinnati hitters. All of them had the letter "J" in their name. Jay Bruce (2), Jeff Conine, Jonny Gomes, Jerry Hairston and Ivan de Jesus.

    Hamels pitches a 1-2-3 inning.

Feel free to copy and paste that for the next 6 innings.

The curse of the letter "J" strikes twice. Jose Peraza and Joey Votto go back-to-back.

Reds go out in order in the first. Schebler and Peraza go down swinging. Votto grounds to first.

No score after 3. Curt Casali has a single. Billy Hamilton has drawn a walk.

    Peraza!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
