Duke will not go undefeated this year as so many people thought.

Didn’t think they would but thought they’d lose in conference play. They really don’t play anyone else until then.

I take that as an insult. Duke still has to play the Indiana Hurryin' M*A*S*H unit.

Congratulations (I guess) to Mike Davis on his Texas Southern team winning at #18 Oregon. They now have wins at Oregon and Baylor to go along with losses at Gonzaga, Iowa State, San Diego State and Evansville. They still have games to play at Arizona State, Georgia, Tulane and Texas A&M on their current suicide tour through college basketball.

Mike Davis is coaching the Detroit Mercy Titans. But point taken.

And Davis is largely, if not, solely responsible for Texas Southern’s murderous non-conference schedules the past four seasons or so, claiming that it prepares them for conference and possible NCAA tourney play.

The polar opposite approach of John Thompson during Georgetown’s salad days.

Plus Texas Southern is getting a big pay day from all of those schools which probably paying for their entire athletic department.

Davis did that at IU too when he had control of the schedule.

Chris Mack against Archie Miller. Great to see Xavier and Dayton renew their rivalry!

The Big East signed an extension with MSG today that will keep the Big East Tournament there during the main Championship Week through 2028. It's a big deal for the league as both the ACC and Big Ten had made noise about trying to squeeze their way into MSG during that time frame.

To say that it's been awfully lean of late for my teams would be an understatement but I gotta hand it to my Tennessee Volunteers on the basketball court. They gave me a real nice thrill today as they came from behind to beat the #1 team in the country, Gonzaga, on a neutral floor. It was played in Phoenix and most of the crowd was for Gonzaga. It was a hard fought game and the SEC 2017-18 player of the yr, Grant Williams fouled out with about 2 min to go and Tennessee trailing yet they pulled out a great win in OT.

Thanks for making my weekend Vols!

Always a good thing to keep Momma happy...

The Vols beat #1 today and played Kansas when they were #1 and it went to OT. The Vols are legit.

Now if only they can find an offensive coordinator...
