Here in Ohio (and a swath of the US and Canada) we're getting a total solar eclipse tomorrow. It's certainly a big deal here in Ohio. Schools have pretty much closed and many businesses like mine will not be open tomorrow. I've given my employees a paid holiday.
They're giving us Y2K type warnings such as the ATMs may run out of money. The gas stations may run out of gas. Traffic will be at a standstill. One of the dumber warnings I heard from our state gov't yesterday was "don't try to drive with your eclipse glasses on".
I have my glasses and I'm heading up to my friend's house in Beavercreek outside of Dayton where there will be a total eclipse. Cincinnati will not be in the area of total darkness. Normally it's one hr drive but I'm preparing for it to be a much longer drive tomorrow. The actual total eclipse will be at about 3:10pm but it'll start before 2pm and go 'till well after 4pm. It kind of is a once in a lifetime thing. The last one in Ohio was 1806. The next one will be 2099
Any of you all have plans for this?
