Arizona grandmother tried to return Nintendo Switches mistakenly delivered to her. Now Target is gifting them back as thanks

An Ahwatukee woman accidentally received six Nintendo Switch consoles in a larger delivery to her home and all she wanted was to give them back.

After several attempts to return them to the Target store up the road where they were supposed to go, Deborah Lewis didn’t have much luck.

For all the effort Lewis made, the team at Target had something else in store for this sweet Ahwatukee woman. Target employees Trent and Allison arrived at the 68-year old's home planning to pick up the six Nintendo Switches but much to Deborah's surprise, they had something else in store.

"On behalf of Target and your local Target store right up the street, we want to give these to you to give to your grandchildren or whoever you want," Trent explained.

"Wait, are you serious?” she yelled. “You have no idea what I've been going through. This is unbelievable.”

Man Hailed as 'Hero' After Tackling Alleged Purse Snatcher at Ohio Supermarket

An Ohio man was lauded as a “hero” and presented with an award by law enforcement on December 16 after chasing down and tackling a suspect who had snatched a purse from an 87-year-old woman shopping in a supermarket.

Surveillance footage released by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) showed 27-year-old Deshawn Pressley pursuing the suspect, 58-year-old Derek Vaughn, into a parking lot outside the front of a Kroger grocery store in Lemon Township on December 5. Pressley tackled Vaughn to the ground, threw a few punches, kicked at the alleged thief, and held him until police arrived a few minutes later. Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones presented Pressley with a Citizen’s Award on Thursday, December 16, which he accepted alongside Goins.

“I’m glad I helped her, because she’s a wonderful, lovely lady,” Pressley said of Goins. Pressley added that after his mother died when he was young, he was raised by his grandmother, who taught him to “help elderly people in need.”

“This isn’t the last time we will see each other,” Pressley told media during the award ceremony, before Goins added that the pair had arranged a “dinner date.”

Everyone had a lousy 2020 and 2021. We had a variety of things happen that made it particularly lousy.

We decided that in lieu of Christmas presents we’d do a family trip to Hawaii. Wrapping up our 10 day trip today and supposed to fly home this afternoon, but we’re hung up in all of the Delta airline cancellations (covid and rotten west coast weather). It’s looking like we’re going to be delayed a day. We are officially stuck at a resort in Maui.

Nice. We also did Hawaii in lieu of Christmas presents this year, but we went at Thanksgiving and did not have the good fortune of getting stuck an extra day. Enjoy. Love Maui!

My wife is big time jealous, and I haven't even told her about it yet. For years she's had Maui as our "win-the-lottery" place to move to.

Company’s Recycling Technology is Making Lithium-Ion Batteries Green

From smartphones to laptops and EVs, lithium-ion batteries are everywhere. Now a new company breaks batteries down and extracts around 95% of the valuable materials for reuse, and investments are pouring in.

Recycling plants in Canada and Rochester, New York, have the capacity to salvage tens of thousands of tons of spent batteries each year, removing waste and aiding the creation of a semi-circular battery economy.

Li-Cycle, borrowing the periodic table’s call sign for Lithium, also claims their “Spoke and Hub” proprietary recycling method is cost-effective, allowing battery manufacturers to actually afford recycled material.

Pre-med student spots cancerous mole on hockey staffer at game. It was a dangerous melanoma

SEATTLE (AP) — Brian “Red” Hamilton was in the middle of moving equipment on the Vancouver Canucks’ bench in between periods on Oct. 23 in Seattle when he noticed a woman behind the bench pressing her phone against the plexiglass.

The message on her phone was written in a large font and caught the attention of Hamilton, the assistant equipment manager for the Canucks. The message expressed Nadia Popovici’s concern that she believed a mole on the back of Hamilton’s neck was cancerous and that he needed to get it checked.

Schmidt Baking Company comes to the rescue after dozens of people were left stuck on I-95

The Schmidt Baking Company came to the rescue recently after people were stranded along I-95 for nearly an entire day.

After being stuck for almost 21 hours with no access to food or water, Casey Holihan Noe and her husband noticed that a Schmidt Baking truck was also stuck out on the road with them.

They reached out the the Company and begged them to open their truck. They didn't think it would work, but less than 20 minutes later, they got a personal owner from the Baking Company who contacted the driver.

The driver then opened the back of his truck and helped pass out bread to more than 50 cars!

Shaq Gifted Thousands Of PS5s And Nintendo Switches To Underprivileged Kids On Christmas

So, as long as I'm on this Earth, I'm always trying to do what I can to make sure kids get good toys... I call, you know, my friend from Nintendo Switch, got about 1,000 Switches sitting there, got about 1,000 PS5s, I went to Walmart and got bikes. So, you know, yesterday, at this little elementary school in McDonough, Georgia, kids were crying, kids were happy, and that's what it's all about."

O'Neal has been hosting these annual "Shaq-a-Claus" events since 1997.
