    Awesomeness Only

It's easy you get mired in cynicism and negativity these days. For a change, I thought it might be nice to have a thread here where we only post positively awesome stories. I'll start with this one...

The Shawnee kid who rocked a Foo Fighters stage wants to redirect your attention:

You may have seen the video of 10-year-old Collier Cash Rule rocking out with the Foo Fighters last week at the Sprint Center.

A YouTube video of the Shawnee kid playing Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” after being invited onstage by Foo Fighters’ lead singer Dave Grohl has been viewed more than 2 million times.

But in addition to basking in the rock ‘n’ roll experience he’ll never forget, Collier says he wants to redirect the attention he’s receiving to another cause: raising money for his sick friend, Bo.

I got this review for one of my novels recently. Not sure how high on the awesome scale it goes, but it made my day.

About 8 years ago only about 25% were C-sections, and two years ago about 80% were.

Our baby was breeched, so didn’t have an option. Our son was born naturally.

Muslim Groups Raise Thousands For Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Victims:

After a suspected gunman with anti-Semitic views killed 11 people and wounded six others at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, two Muslim groups are refusing to let religious hatred win.

Celebrate Mercy and MPower Change have banded together to raise money for their Jewish brothers and sisters at Tree of Life Or L’Simcha Congregation, which was the target of Saturday’s attack. They started a campaign on the Muslim-focused crowdfunding site LaunchGood in the hopes of raising $25,000 for the synagogue victims and their families. They are now past $50,000.
Latest update is that they are up over $100,000. Really good to see this reaching out in kindness.

    Re: Awesomeness Only

You have something to back that up? I don't believe 80% of all babies are born thru a C-section.

This article claims 32% in 2015, the latest data available at the time (article was written in 2017)

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeands...esarean-births, which is 80% higher than the 19% mark the claim was last reached in the 70s (so 40ish years ago), but I doubt the overall number is anywhere close to 80%

Oh, and congrats on the Baby, awesome sauce for sure.

Minor personal accomplishment here. Nothing like having babies or anything, but over the last two years I’ve gone from 235 lbs to 175 lbs. That’s 60 lbs less of me now. I didn’t cut out anything I like, but ate less of it and started going to the gym a bit.

A newborn weighs about 8 lbs, so you lost the equivalent of 7-8 new borns, I'd say that's 7-8x awesomeness, keep up the good work.
