    I think Sparks was released.

Sparks was released and the other three are on the Louisville injured list. Lopez has been working in Arizona in their high tech lab trying to work out some mechanical issues. Strahan was out there a few weeks ago doing the same and they felt like they made a lot of progress with him. This lab can measure every step of the delivery of a pitcher. For example, if the arm is lagging ever so slightly behind the hip turn, that will show up and be something they can spend a couple weeks working on trying to fix.

The Reds have released third baseman Taylor Sparks, according to Roster Roundup.

    Third time's the charm!

RHP Felix Jorge assigned to Reds Ext. Spring Training from Billings Mustangs.

Chadwick Tromp assigned to Reds Ext. Spring Training from Louisville Bats.

RHP Jose Lopez assigned to Reds Ext. Spring Training from Billings Mustangs.

Ryan "tryna get a" Nutof has been promoted to Chattanooga after putting up a 2.70 ERA in 30 innings in Daytona this year, on the heels of a 2.95 ERA between Daytona and Dayton last year. Possible guy to watch, supposed to have a heavy fastball that hits 95 and his strikeout rates have been very good in the lower levels.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Tejay Antone has been promoted to the Bats, to fill the roster spot of Ian Krol, who has opted out of his contract.

Hernan Iribarren has retired and will work as the bench coach for Billings. Best of luck to Hernan!

interesting timing on Krol, a left-handed reliever, given last night's game.

Pronounced NEW-toff. One of the truly nicest people you could have the pleasure of meeting. Has the arm to pitch in the big leagues some day.

Nearly 50 players under contract by the Reds are technically still assigned to Extended Spring Training, though they aren't playing in any games...due to injuries. They are on minor league affiliate reserve lists, though not active.

So where did Travieso come from? I thought they released him a year or so ago.

Is he back? Was he ever gone? Did I just see the wrong thing?

The Reds had added him to the 40 Man in November 2016 to protect him from the Rule 5 draft and outrighted him off the 40 Man in October 2017, but he never left the org.

SanMartin to AA is an interesting move.

He's not been as sharp as last season, but he's shown enough K ability to keep starting. For now.

He could be a decent BOR innings eater moving forward.

Wouldn't now be the perfect time to bump AlfRod to AAA? I mean he did just turn 25...

Also seems like it's time for India to go to Chattanooga, now that the All-Star Game is behind him.

Not sure of their plan with India. He will move up when they think he is ready for AA pitching. They might feel like he has one or two things to improve on a bit.

As far as Rodriguez, he is not the same kind of prospect as far as being a priority. In other words, you are not going to weaken the Louisville team just to move him up. If you think he is a better Triple A player than Trahan, you move him up. If not, you leave him there. If they thought Rodriguez could hit a little better than Trahan while playing equal defense, they would move him up. They must not feel that way at this point.
