Chattanooga Lookouts placed RHP Ryan Hendrix on the 7-day injured list. Right elbow strain. (This was back in early May.)

Over the past few days the Reds have released IF'er Sherman Johnson and OF'er Reshard Munroe.

Sherman was signed as a minor league free agent this past February.

Reshard was signed out of the Bahamas 5 years ago by the Reds

    Reds signed OF Michael O’Neill.

Born in 1992 in Powell, Ohio, and drafted in the 2nd round in 2013 by the Yankees out of Michigan. So as you may be able to figure out from those details, he is related to Paul. He’s his nephew.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Strike three and you are out. Maybe. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/four-...ns/c-309784160

Reds outfielder Nate Scantlin (100 games) was suspended for a third positive test of a drug of abuse. Scantlin was first suspended 50 games back in January following his second positive test for a drug of abuse. The Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program defines a drug of abuse as any Schedule I or II drug or substance, including marijuana, cocaine, LSD, heroin, ecstasy, PCP and others. Scantlin returned to the field with Rookie Advanced Billings on June 16 and hit .311/.382/.508 with eight extra-base hits in 16 games with the Mustangs. He was promoted to Class A Dayton on July 25 but went 1-for-14 (.071) in six games with the Dragons before receiving his second suspension of the year. The 20-year-old outfielder was a 17th-round pick by Cincinnati in the 2017 Draft, coming out of a Kansas high school.

So this makes him what, 27-28?. Seems like a wasted signing to me.

The Yankees have acquired LHP Joe Mantiply from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations.

Mantiply was assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and is not on the Yankees’ 40-man roster.

Minor league teams need filler....he was signed bc they needed somepne to play OF and as we've seen there are few real options for the 24 starting OF spots the minors have. Hard to fill even 10 spots with what I'd call actual prospects
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

He's essentially going to take Scantlin's spot in the organization. Moves have to be made when some dummy fails a drug test.

Curt Casali out to Louisville on a rehab assignment.

Surprise! Blake Trahan cleared waivers. He is back on the Louisville roster.

Cory Thompson on the 7-day IL for Chattanooga.

Yonathan Mendoza (3B) up to 'Nooga from the 'Tugas.

Brian Rey has been bumped up from Dayton To Daytona.

James Marinan back to the IL for the Dragons.

Randy Wynne (RHP) to Dayton from Greeneville.

Alec Byrd (LHP) up from Billings to Dayton.

Matt Long up to Dayton from Billings as well. He just launched a 3-run shot in his first at-bat for Dayton.

The pitching cavalry has arrived in Billings. Manuel Cachutt from Greeneville, and Jacques Pucheu from AZL Reds.

Spencer Stockton (RHP) gets bumped up from AZL Reds to Greeneville. Stockton, a free-agent signee, was scorching the desert league. 42/5 K/BB.

The Reds signed 24 year old Venezuelan born pitcher Pedro Garcia as a NDFA out of Gwinnett College, he's been assigned to AZL.

The Reds signed 25 year old pitcher Jon Tripp from the INDY leagues, he's been assigned to Greeneville.

    One correction:

Matt Lloyd to Dayton, not Matt Long
