If you haven't seen the Lamar Jackson TD run from today...do yourself a favor.
Some great games today. SEA/SF should be great.

Well with three and a half minutes to go he got the ball first and ten at his own 48. That drive ended 5 plays later. He had one complete pass and three incomplete ones.
In his last drive he got it at his own 10 with a mere 1:41 to go. He did run out of downs after reaching the Chicago 25. His shot to tie it was the previous drive. In the last drive the defense was giving him passes in the middle of the field in order to run clock.
All in all his numbers showed a common theme in Detroit: filling a stat sheet with late yards but in the end falling short. That defines Stafford's career
If it's a highlight clip and the Bengals are on defense, it shouldn't even count.
Kind of like watching a varsity quarterback mow through the 3rd grade football team. At first glance you're like, "wow". And then you're like "oh...".

Steelers are now 5-4, after narrowly defeating the Rams.
Starting QB goes down.
Starting RB goes down.
Quite a few other injuries this season.
It would have been so easy for the Rooneys to just fold their hand this year. Instead, they made a gutsy trade to strengthen their defense, for one. But the hidden value in that trade, is that it tells fans, coaches, and especially players, that the Steelers are still all in on trying to win another Super Bowl. Next man up.
So here they are again. Middle of the pack dark horse. Banged up but still rolling. Never seen this movie before.
Down 6 in the Super Bowl, 4th quarter, 3rd and goal on the 49ers 20. 13 seconds remain. Rudolph drops back to pass. "He's hit hard! How did he hang on to that?" Steelers call their final timeout. Rudolph has to be helped off the field. He looks dazed. What will the Steelers ever doooo?
"I don't believe it! Here comes Roethlisberger, and he's coming out to the huddle in a wheelchair! Is that even allowed? Looks like they have a play, Roethlisberger under center. Hikes the ball. Rolls to his right! And finds Smith-Schuster in the end-zone for the touchdown! Can. You. Believe. It? This is one for the storybooks. Blah blah blah."
"Lemonade requires a significant amount of sugar. Otherwise, you've just made lemon juice."
Stafford didn't play...amazingly ends a run of something like 136 consecutive starts.
Don't change the narrative. Don't bring up other drives when I was clearly speaking about the last drive. He moved the ball from the 10 of Detroit to the 25 of Chicago in 1:12, and had 29 seconds left and a 1st Down. That play got challenged that got them to the 25, and it sucked out the momentum that Driskell and Detroit had. The play was upheld, but the damage was done. You always want one second for every yard you need to go, so he was right where he needed to be after gaining 65 of the needed 90 yards with zero or one timeout...I can't remember, but I think it was none. I made my comment at this time, so my comment was 100% accurate.

...and that's why you punt the ball on 4th-and-short inside your own territory.
