I think the point is that, whether there was ever any truth to the rumor or not, the rumor was the Riley would get the Dallas HC job, and Lewis would be his DC. Now, that rumor may have been totally made up, but that was the rumor. There was not a rumor that Lewis would get the Cowboys HC job and Riley would be his OC.

Agreed Dallas was interested in Riley as HC only...I think it is also safe to say that Marvin had no interest in being DC for him...though the Cowboys may have asked if he would be interested in other positions during the interview process.

I honestly don’t get why Brady keeps playing. He has to be worth millions and is married to a probably-more-wealthy-than-him supermodel. He’s won 5 Super Bowls. Why keep playing at 42?

Why not keep playing? I don't understand why anyone would give that up one second before they were forced to.

I know some Saints fans and I don’t see it. They aren’t too far removed from losing their team to San Antonio.

    Now Patriots and Cowboys fans....

    FYI, 6 rings.

I’ve heard this before about MJ and Tiger too. They’ve done this, that, etc. Why do they keep playing? First, they might be worried about being bored out of their mind when they retire. What else are they going to do (not counting family)? Second, competing at the highest has to be a ton of fun. Why stop? Winning at that level never gets old. Third, these individuals are self-driven to the extreme. Competing at the highest level is such a rush for them. Being the best ever at their sport has to be incredibly motivating to continue working hard at their craft. Getting to the top is just as challenging as maintaining it. They will continue to play as long as they think they can win. It’s not necessarily about records or stats, they just love competing that much.
