Like all NFL players, he can be cut and get nothing if he's not injured. He has no guaranteed money at this point, from what I remember. Baltimore is responsible for his bonus cap hit. There are probably bonus monies he gets if he's on the roster at certain dates, but no guaranteed salary until Week 1 begins. Von Miller was the first to get gauranteed money that went beyond three years.

18.5 mill this year, 20 and 24 the next 2. You assume he'll get this years money at least. I just think he would have been released and they could have picked him up cheap.

The NFL announced Friday that Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid's collusion grievances against the league have been resolved.
Details are scarce as both sides are bound to a confidentiality agreement, though it's likely that Kaepernick and Reid received significant financial compensation. "We continuously supported Colin and Eric from the start of their protests, participated with their lawyers throughout their legal proceedings and were prepared to participate in the upcoming trial in pursuit of both truth and justice for what we believe the NFL and its clubs did to them," the NFL Players Association said in a statement Friday. "We are glad that Eric has earned a job and a new contract, and we continue to hope that Colin gets his opportunity as well." Reid has found a new home in Carolina while Kaepernick has yet to resurface in the wake of his widely-publicized anthem protests. Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report has heard "speculation" Kaepernick will net between $60-80 million from the settlement.

The Patriots, Cardinals and Redskins will each receive a league-high four compensatory picks in the upcoming draft. The rich get richer. New England's compensatory haul includes a pair of third-rounders (picks No. 97 and 101) as well as a sixth-rounder (No. 205) and a seventh-round selection (No. 252). That gives New England seven picks in the first four rounds of April's draft. If the Pats want to swing a trade for Antonio Brown or another marquee name this offseason, they'll have plenty of ammunition. The Bengals, Rams and Vikings were awarded three compensatory picks each while the Eagles and Falcons netted two a piece. The Chiefs, Colts, Cowboys, Giants, Panthers, Ravens and 49ers all received one compensatory pick.

What a perfect fit!
From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:
Free agent Golden Tate said he "would love" to sign with the Patriots.
"Man, I would love it," Tate said. "You gotta admire that organization. They do things right. They've been doing it for a long, long, long time. So, I'd definitely love to be a part of something like that and catch a few passes from ol' Tommy Boy. ... I definitely would not mind going over there for sure." The Patriots would seem to be interested in a player like Tate as well; he's someone that can play inside and outside with versatility. Receiver figures to be one of the Patriots' main areas of focus this offseason with Josh Gordon suspended and Phillip Dorsett, Chris Hogan, and Cordarrelle Patterson being free agents. Tate will turn 31 in August.
