Compound leg fracture for Nurkic. Nobody deserves that.

Tough loss for the Blazers you can't replace Nurkic.

Makes the signing of Kanter look like a brilliant move now. Kanter is a 15 rebound guy if he can ever get his head on straight.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

Kanter can help replace some of the offense, but he is a massive defensive liability. There’s not much the Blazers can do and don’t really have time to experiment and find some rotations that might work.

The Net Rating difference of Nurkic on the court and off the court is 15.8. That's a gargantuan number.

I'm guessing Meyers Leonard starts. He spreads the Offense, knows all the plays, sets tremendous picks, shoots as good as any Center in the NBA...when he shoots, and that keeps Zach Collins alongside Kanter with the 2nd Unit to make up for Kanter's ineffectiveness on Defense (Kanter is better than he gets credit for, but his reputation ensures that every call goes against him even when he is just standing there minding his own business).

Meyers is having his best year in the NBA, but it's a huge downgrade.

I don't know when C.J. will be back.

Layman never improved during this 4-game homestand, nor did Turner. Zach was very good, though. Hood also got better. Curry has been great all year. More will be asked of Harkless and Aminu. Had Nurkic not gotten hurt, Layman played himself out of the rotation, but he'll get some more opportunities the rest of the way because of his rebounding and length.

I think Stotts will close games with Hood (move Harkless to Center...Stotts has done that before) or Zach. The rim has to be protected the last five minutes of a game better than Meyers or Kanter can provide. Of course, Hood has to play better Defense than the one time they used that lineup with 30 seconds left in double-overtime. Hood will pick it up quickly.

Closing out the 2nd Quarter will be based on whoever is playing the best among Turner, Curry (if C.J. is back, otherwise Curry is out there as the '2'), Layman, Zach, Hood or Meyers. I don't think Kanter will ever start a half or close a half.

Good news for Nurkic. No nerve or muscle damage. Glad for him it wasnt any worse that what it turned out to be. When you start getting into nerve damage, you start talking possible career enders!

3 minutes left in the half and Milwaukee has only had four fouls called on them. How is that possible?

FWIW, Nurkic's injury could not have happened at a worse time. The Blazers' Offense has really been clicking. Last Night they had a 35-3 Assist-to-Turnover ratio! Easily, the best in the NBA this year. And, in a double-overtime closely contested game full of emotion, they kept their focus throughout the game.

The Heat and Magic are in a tight one. The Hornets kept the pressure up with an OT win over the Spurs. Kemba went 38-9-11.

Unless HOU pulls out a miracle, the Blazers are in 3rd place with a 2-game lead over 4th place HOU in the loss column (POR owns the tie-breaker).

Teams on the last day might try to get that #6 seed so they can go up against the seriously wounded Blazers. Nurkic is 2nd, only to Steph, in Net Rating in the Western Conference.

Looks like the Magic are about to win. And the Nuggets are stomping on the Pistons. We've got a playoff race.

Milwaukee is going to be a tough out for anyone. They put it to the Rockets.
