Did a 10 pound butt in the Kamado Joe for memorial and it turned out perfect.

In high contrast to my request for Vegetarian recipes ...

Smoked wings went with a quickness - I tried 4 different rubs - unanimous favorite for the "not spicy" category was simply Dave's Famous BBQ Rib Rub. Smoked turkey will go in a Pot pie this week. Smoked chicken brats will likely be a test run in a Jambalaya variation.

It's not meat but I tried smoking cream cheese over the weekend as a side/snack. Did a spicy sweet bbq on one and a bbq honey on the other then paired it with a sweet and spicy peach jam. Served with some crispy crackers and it was a huge hit.

Do what! That sounds amazing. I’ll have to give it a try.

The above post was from May 20th. I went to Kroger tonight and the same brand drumsticks are currently $2.49 a pound. Still cheaper than wings.

It is 72 degrees this far today. I have the smoker going with a Turkey breast. I have some green bean casserole going and Mrs. goreds2 is fixing home made stuffing. We are cheating somewhat as we will fix some Bob Evans mashed potatoes. They are actually very good.

I guess the wife and I will have to have a beer(s) while waiting on the turkey to get up to temperature.

Turkey smokes so well. Leftover smoked turkey is top notch in pot pies.

Non meat eater with an interest in all cooking... turkey is underrated when you are smoking, or barbeque. Really fits well in that genre good for pulled dishes and smokes uniquely.

Okay... off to eat some cauliflower

Putting a Turkey breast in the smoker later on today. I guess I better get back to sleep.

    Everyone have a great Thanksgiving.

    Re: Smoking Meat

Hope you enjoyed the Turkey; I smoked a 24 lb bird for thanksgiving. Spatchcocked, it took about 3.5 hours from on to pull. Covered it up with foil and a couple of towels and let it rest for about an hour (a bit longer than I originally planed, but it cooked a bit quicker than I originally planned as well).
Posting in the clutch since twenty ought two.
