His last 10 games. Apologies for the formatting. But notice how that ERA keeps getting uglier.
May as well toss him back in the rotation. We thought he'd found something as a reliever, but this is more of the same.

Kid made progress this year. League adjusted. Let’s see if he adjusts back.
I am so sorry I also failed tomention another great first round pick Pat Osburn
No love for the irrepressible Chad Mottola?

He was drafted 27th overall. I get he was technically a first round pick, but I bet throughout the history of the draft more 27th picks overall don’t even make it to the majors than do.
What would you say.....ya do here?

He's a head case so long as he has to take his glove off and rub the baseball after every pitch.

His peripherals are all solid, just a high ERA, even with a low BABIP. It seems it’s due to a very low LOB percentage, which should correct itself over time.

He’s pitching well, just running into a rough spot. I think he’s a good option for the rotation or closer spot next season.

He's 26, and he's in a new situation, new coaches, in relief, has had some effective outings. So I understand why Reds are giving him every opportunity. He's got a 12.34 K rate (excellent) and a 3.96 BB rate (maybe acceptable), but too many homers and a very low GB rate.
Notably Stephenson's ERA is 5.35 but his FIP is 3.82 according to Fangraphs this morning.
So there's something there, but he's too reliant on his slider, his fastball has to be more effective, I doubt this drags on into next season.

Now if the A's want to trade Barretto for him, I could get behind that. Two underwhelming players that likely could use a change of scenery.
