Just when we were starting to believe that no MLB stats could make us giggle more than Khris Davis's .247 BA for 4 straight seasons, Trout finds a way to prove he's the greatest at that ,too.

DeGrom five-year, $137.5M deal with #Mets includes full no-trade clause, sources tell The Athletic. Gets opt-out after ‘22, same as Sale, even though he is a year further from free agency. Will earn $107M between now and opt-out, Sale, $105M.

Do these extensions get thrown into the mix when it comes to calculating the cost of $/WAR?

Yeah, that was a pretty ugly event caught on video.

Wonder if Kemp might interest Dbacks who just lost Souza for year? Their backups don't look that great. Pay a chunk of his salary, get a non-40 man prospect, and bring up Ervin who now becomes backup CF.

Trade him at full cost and a couple secondary prospects for Greinke. Do that and I'd be on board the "Reds are going to contend" bandwagon. Kemp, Reed and Fairchild for Greinke,

I don't get why people wanna basically throw Kemp away. As we seen injuries happen quite often, and Kemp is a guy who will mash in GABP. I think at the trade deadline would be the time to get rid of him if we arent contending. If they did something like this, then I would believe they never had any intention of competing this year. He is a valuable player who is head and shoulders better than Ervin.

I see Adam Duvall got sent to the minors by Atlanta -- not advocating getting him - just thought it was interesting
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

    I miss Raisor

All of you guys arguing over Senzel and his service time manipulation should go look at what the Braves have just done with Dan Winkler. They've optioned him to AAA, if he spends 2 1/2 weeks there they get to prolong his team control through the 2021 season instead of 2020. The 29 year old has exactly 4 years of major league service (most of it spent on the 60 day-dl after being initially acquired via the Rule 5 draft).

Teams don't save it just for premium prospects with no service.

Fine. I'd actually prefer that, but figured the board would go nuts if I suggested Disco.

    On a perennial contending team.

    nah.
He left a lot of money on the table. Because of the deferred money, the contract is less than $110 million in today’s dollars. I can’t read his mind, but maybe he’s making it easier for the Sox to sign a couple their young stars going forward, I.e. Xandar and Betts. If Betts has another year like he had last year, he will be the first $400 million man over ten years.
