    How many forfeits?

Background: Only one qualified hitter in the NL is hitting under .220. That's Suarez. Only two qualified NL pitchers have ERAs over 4.50.

So I'm arbitrarily defining a forfeit as any game when we a) have a lineup with at least three position players hitting under .200, or b) pitch at least three innings with pitchers who have ERAs over 4.50.

How many games have we essentially forfeited this season?

This team has less depth than any competitive team I can remember, and I'm over 70.

I agree. These microscopic batting averages are an insult. It's those suarez type home runnabes that destroy BA. Now i'm sure some hip hep stat head will chime in and say "but his FLIP or his BZRT is 12.9999" or whatever. Put them in the minor leagues. We're a league of bud harrelsons, which as insult to bud, because he outhit these "pros" of today.

Tonight's game classifies as a Crosley 58 forfeit:

    Suarez .176
    Barerro .167
    Deshields .160
    Gutierrez .097

Folks, that's how you struggle scoring runs, especially when your "big guns" in the 3 and 4 spots have cooled off. I don't remember a team in a playoff chase that consistently started three position players batting well under .200 .
