Sanmartin only walked 1. Antone had a HBP. Seems like a wash on that front. I can see giving extra credit to a prospect, but I don't think Antone is one. He's 25 in AA and not blessed with stuff. Sanmartin's more than two years younger, only one level lower and left-handed. He's probably got room to move as a reliever.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.

Games of Friday, May 24
Nick Longhi, Louisville: 2-2, HR, 2 walks, 4 RBI. 7th HR of the season for Longhi, which ties his previous career high in a season of 7 for 2015 and 2017. Who knows if it's the ball or what but the 23-year-old will certainly take it and hope to keep the good times rolling.
Honorable mention: Mike Siani, Dayton: 3-4, HR, RBI. Now this is more like one was hoping for out of the young CF from the Philadelphia area. Gonna need a few more of these games to bring his slash line to a presentable form but there's plenty of season left.
In other action, on a night where a number of pitchers farmwide got blown the hell up:
Rob Refsynder, Louisville: 2-3, 2 walks
Brian O'Grady, Louisville: 1-5, 2B, 2 RBI. No HR...slacker.
Aristides Aquino, Louisville: 1-3, BB
Jimmy Herget, Louisville: 1 inning, 0 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, 0 runs
Jose Siri, Chattanooga: 1-4, 2B, BB
Ibandel Isabel, Chattanooga: 1-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI. 4 straight games with a HR for the big 1B.
Tyler Stephenson, Chattanooga: 3-5, 2B
Calten Daal, Chattanooga: 2-4, RBI
Ty Boyles, Chattanooga: 1.1 innings, 0 hits, walks, or runs, 3 strikeouts
Jose Garcia, Daytona: 2-5, RBI
Jonathan India, Daytona: 1-4, 2B, BB
Bruce Yari, Daytona: 1-4, HR, RBI
Ryan Lillie, Daytona: 5 innings, 4 hits, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts, 0 runs
Julio Pinto, Daytona: 2 innings, 0 hits, walks, or runs, 2 strikeouts
Ryan Nutof, Daytona: 3 innings, 0 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 0 runs
Brian Rey, Dayton: 1-4, HR, RBI
Moises Nova, Dayton: 3 innings, 3 hits, 0 walks, 1 strikeout, 0 runs

To say I was underwhelmed by the few weeks of the season down on the farm would be an understatement, but now there seems to be interesting stories popping up all over (there's probably a pithy "April Showers/May Flowers" line in there someplace, but I'm not going to make the effort to torture it into place).
Got a feeling we're going to see a surprising move or two at the deadline.

Games of Saturday, May 25
Your MILPOD
Jared Solomon, Tortuga: 6 IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 7K. 2018 11th rounder out of Lackawanna shows well in "show me" promotion start. Unheralded guy from a no-name school with a great name is showing some promise. Shut down Ft. Myers, a good FSL squad. Will he stay or will he go back down, down, down to Dayton?
Hon Men
Ibandel Isabel, Lookout: 2-4, HR (13). 5th straight game with a longball. You gotta figure he's on the verge of tying or breaking somebody's record, like he did in the FSL in 2018.
In other action on a night visions of Hernan Iribarren taking the mound in Louisville might have danced across the minds of Bats fans (Alberti Chavez is no Hernan Iribarren)...
Rob Refsnyder, Bat: 3-5
Alex Powers, Bat: IP, H, BB, 2 K. Two scoreless since getting the well-deserved bump to AAA.
Alfredo Rodriguez, Lookout: 3-5, cs (6). Continuing to show bat on ball skill.
Chris Okey, Lookout: 1-4, HR (4), 4 RBI. First power hot spell since Dayton. Hard to know what to make of it, but I think there's still hope for this guy.
Brantley Bell, Lookout: 2-4, SB (6). Showing something.
Packy Naughton, Lookout: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K. Like Solomon, Naughton gets a look-see a level up and looks the part.
Joel Kuhnel, Lookout: 1.1 IP, H, K, save (6). May close full-time now that Powers is inAAA.
No Tortugas other than your MILPOD distinguished himself.
Pabel Manzanero, Dragon: 3-4, RBI
Brian Rey, Jay Schuyler, Mike Siani, Dragons: 2-5. Siani doubled and tripled, a day after homering. Power was a question mark with him, so this is a promising moment in what has been a challenging season so far.

I was thinking Siani might at least get an honorable mention for his 2B & 3B.
Games of Sunday, May 26
MiLPoD: Christian Colon, Louisville . . . 5-5, double, homer (3), 3 RBI. If the Reds can’t use this veteran infielder, now batting .320, surely somebody can.
Honorable Mention: Alfredo Rodriguez, Chattanooga . . . 4-4, double, walk, RBI. That’s 7 hits in the last two days for the slick shortstop who can’t hit, bumping his average 29 points to .312.
Honorable Mention: Mitch Nay, Chattanooga . . . 3-4, triple, HR (4). Eight hits in the last 4 games, pushing OPS to 973. Played first base.
Also notable on a day when the UC Bearcats, picked for last place in the American Conference, won the league tournament in a rout . . .
Chattanooga
Taylor Trammell: 2-5, HR (4), 2 runs, SB (11). That’s the formula.
Tyler Stephenson: double, 2 RBI.
Tony Santillan: 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, W (2-2). ERA 3.44.
Ty Boyles: 1 IP, 0-0-0, 2 K.
Louisville
Brian O’Greaty: 2-5, triple. Maintaining the Hall of Fame slugging percentage. O'Grady's OPS of 1.081 is tops in International League.
Dan Longhi: 3-4, double, 2 RBI. Slid into the cleanup slot.
Rob Refsnyder: 2-5, RBI. Checking in at .323.
Sal Romano: 1.1 IP, 0-0-0, 1 K.
Ian Krol: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K.
Alex Powers: .2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Sv (1). First AAA save. 15th consecutive scoreless appearance.
Daytona
Drew Mount: 2-4, run, RBI, 2 SB (7).
Jose Garcia: double, 2 runs.
Stuart Fairchild: triple, RBI.
Austin Orewiler: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 K.
Andy Cox: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K, Sv (2). Lefty recently promoted from Dayton has worked 6.2 shutout innings in High-A with 12 strikeouts.
Aneurys Zabala: 1 IP, zeros.
Dayton
Brian Rey: HR (3). Ninth-inning homer was only run for the downtrodden Dragons, who fell to a horrid 15-35.
Morgan Lofstrom: 2-3.
Carlos Machorro: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K.

I'm sorry to be off topic, I just wanted to thank all of the great posters whi keep up threads like these.
I don't get to post like I used to, real life getting in the way, and I struggle to have the time. But, I still read as often as possible.

Games of Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day)
Only two affiliates played yesterday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
MiPOD Brian O'Grady went 3-5 with 2 home runs (14) and 5 RBI. The beat goes on for the Notorious B.O.G. For a guy who was simply a good hitter before heading to Louisville last year, he has been great for Louisville since he has arrived. His 1.126 OPS has still not reached what VanMeter had done in Louisville (1.167), but his performance has still been incredible. His age (27) likely prevented him from being voted as a top 40 Redszone prospect, but he seems better suited to help the Reds off the bench than Jose Peraza.
The Louisville Bats won 10-6.
Rob Refsnyder went 2-5 with a double, run scored, and he had an RBI.
Phillip Ervin went 1-2 with a walk, was hit by a pitch, and he scored 2 runs.
Aristides Aquino went 1-4 with an RBI.
Sherman Johnson went 2-4 with a triple, run scored, and he had an RBI.
The Chattanooga Lookouts had the day off.
The Daytona Tortugas had the day off.
The Dayton Dragons lost 10-5.
Michael Siani went 1-2, was hit by a pitch, doubled, and he scored 2 runs. Left a few innings after being hit.
Moises Nova threw a perfect inning with 2 strikeouts.

Games of Tuesday, May 28
Scott Moss, Chattanooga: 6 innings, 2 hits, 2 walks, 9 strikeouts, 0 runs. Bit of a weird season so far for the former Gator in his first go around in AA. Way, way too many walks (7.5 BB/9 going into this one), yet he's limited hits and has racked up strikeouts like they are going out of style. ERA is now down to 3.45 in 10 starts. More outings like this with limited walks and the lefty will start getting some more eyes on him.
Honorable mention: Jonathan India, Daytona: 3-5, HR, 2 RBI. 7 HRs on the season for India, which puts him near the top in the Florida State League. Looking more and more like a candidate for a mid-season promotion.
In other action, with 3 out of 4 teams winning and only Louisville acting as the proverbial turd in the punch bowl:
Sherman Johnson, Louisville: 2-2, BB
Jose Lopez, Louisville: 5 innings, 8 hits, 4 walks, 5 strikeouts, 7 runs. I don't typically note bad performances but I need to make an exception here because the rate at which Jose Lopez has deteriorated is quite alarming. Those few weeks with the Giants must have really messed him up because while he was very mediocre last season in AAA he's been downright abysmal this season, with a 6.98 ERA through 10 starts. He turns 26 in September to boot.
Tristan Archer, Louisville: 0.1 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 1 strikeout, 0 runs. Welcome fresh meat.
TJ Friedel, Chattanooga: 2-5, 2B
Ibandel Isabel, Chattanooga: 1-4, HR, 2 RBI. After homering in 5 straight games Isabel lost that streak Sunday but is starting a new one today.
Jose Siri, Chattanooga: 2-4, 2B, 2 stolen bases
Tyler Stephenson, Chattanooga: 0-2, 2 walks
Calten Daal, Chattanooga: 2-4, RBI
Drew Mount, Daytona: 2-5, 3B, RBI
Alejo Lopez, Daytona: 2-5, RBI
Stuart Fairchild, Daytona: 1-3, BB
Bruce Yari, Daytona: 2-4, 2B
Andy Sugilio, Daytona: 2-4
Mac Sceroler, Daytona: 4.2 innings, 5 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts, 2 runs
Adrian Rodriguez, Clate Schmidt (more fresh meat), Julio Pinto, and Ryan Nutof combined to throw 4.1 scoreless innings out of the Turtles pen
Randy Ventura, Dayton: 2-4, 2B, BB. Got booted back down to Dayton but he is still just 21.
Reniel Ozuna, Dayton: 2-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI
Brian Rey, Dayton: 2-4, HR, RBI. Only made his season debut about 2 weeks ago and is already batting third in the Dragons order, make of that what you will.
Pabel Manzanero, Dayton: 1-5, HR, 2 RBI
Juan Martinez, Dayton: 2-4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI. Continues to be perhaps the Dragons most consistent offensive performer.
Morgan Lofstrom, Dayton: 2-3, 2B, BB, RBI
Carlos Rivero, Dayton: 2-4
Connor Curlis, Dayton: 5 innings, 5 hits, 0 walks, 3 strikeouts, 1 run. The 22-year-old Ohio State left-hander, who in my mind bares a strong facial resemblance to Brandon Finnegan, gave up a solo HR to in the top of the 2nd and nothing else.
Alexis Diaz, Dayton: 3 innings, 0 hits, walks, or runs, 3 strikeouts
Jerry D'Andrea, Dayton: 1 inning, 0 hits, walks, or runs, 1 strikeout

Games of Wednesday, May 29
MiLPoD: TJ Friedl, Chattanooga (game 1) . . . 4-4, double, HR (2), RBI, 2 runs. The plucky outfielder needed it. He also went 1 for 3 with a steal in the second game.
Honorable Mention: Reiver Sanmartin, Daytona . . . 6 shutout innings, 5 hits, 0 walks, 3 K. Thin lefty from Cartagena has now thrown 14 scoreless innings over his last 2 starts. For the year, the former Yankee farmhand (Sonny Gray trade) has walked only 9 batters in 55.1 innings, while fanning 51.
Honorable Mention: Phillip Ervin, Louisville . . . 2-4, 2 home runs (3), 4 RBI. Leads the organization in being jerked around, IMHO.
Also notable on a day when the Lookouts managed to play a doubleheader without taking a walk . . .
Louisville
Rob Refsnyder: HR (5), walk, 3 RBI. Nice veteran acquisition.
Brian O’Grady: 2-5, double, 2 runs. Everybody has an off day now and again.
Aristides Aquino: HR (6).
Alberti Chavez: 2-4, run.
Jackson Stephens, Ian Krol, Jimmy Herget, Alex Powers: 6 innings, 5 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K. Stephens led the bullpen parade and picked up the W.
Daytona
Lorenzo Cedrola: 2-3, triple, RBI, run. Venezuelan OF checks in at 5-8, 152, strongly suggesting speed.
Drew Mount: 2-5, 2 steals (9). Last year, I had this Kansas Stater pegged as an RBI guy (58 in 242 AB). This year it’s legs (3 triples to go with the bags). Can’t wait till next year.
Jonathan India: 2-5. OPS .810.
Stuart Fairchild: HR (3). May May continue for the center fielder of the month.
Dauri Moreta: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K. In the swing after late start to season.
John Ghyzel: 1 IP, 1 BB. Finished shutout.
Chattanooga, game 1
Gavin LaValley: HR (4).
Jose Siri: 1-3, double, 2 RBI. Also threw out a sucker at home.
Tejay Antone: 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 3 K, W (6-3). If wins are overrated, Antone and a bloke from Biloxi are the most overrated pitchers in the Southern League.
Joel Kuhnel: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Sv (8).
Chattanooga, game 2
Wyatt Strahan: 1 IP, 0-0-0, 1 K. Yes, there was little notable in this one.
Dayton
Ricky Salinas: Righty from Rice threw 5 shutout innings before giving up 3 in the sixth.
Carlos Machorro: 2.1 IP, 0-0-0, 2 K.
Connor Bennett: 1 IP, 0-0-0, 2 K. Have been impressed for a while now. 40 K in 24 innings.
Morgan Lofstrom: triple.
Randy Ventura: 1-3, sac fly.
