    RIP Richard E. Cole, last surviving member of Doolittle Raid

    He passed away on April 9th.

    April 9th of 1942 he had been on the USS Hornet for one week and would launch from there 9 days later to fulfill his mission as co-pilot on the lead aircraft.

    The passing got a lot of air time on WOWO out of Fort Wayne.

    The country needed a morale boost. And a select few provided it for us.
