    1. Curt Casali (R) C
    2. Eugenio Suarez (R) 3B
    3. Yasiel Puig (R) RF
    4. Matt Kemp (R) LF
    5. Jose Peraza (R) 2B
    6. Jose Iglesias (R) SS
    7. Scott Schebler (L) CF
    8. Kyle Farmer (R) 1B
    9. Luis Castillo (R) P

    Vs. Clayton Kershaw

That is certainly an interesting lineup.

First time Curt Casali is batting leadoff since he was a freshman in HS, per @RedsPR

Frankly, I am here for David Bell's mad scientist musings. Kinda reminds me of Joe Maddon's zaniness over the years.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

I’m all for protecting the lefties vs Kerahaw. But I’d probably swap Peraza and Casals at the least

after the tedious, often painful games the past few years, I'm thankful that this time is at least interesting

If they do well, I'll applaud Bell. If they do as this lineup on first impression leads me to think they'll do, I'll crush him. Not sure why Votto is sitting - Lou Gehrig and Cal Ripken never sat, analytics be d...ed.

Baseball is becoming unrecognizable. Different game than I grew up watching.

Seems like Bell picked 4 RH hitters he thinks are best equipped to hit Kershaw and are hitting them 1-4. The rest seems fairly random to me, not sure how that was derived.

Hope they win, you never know.

Why because a catcher is hitting leadoff?

I mean, we'll see if this works or not later tonight, but Bell is at least open to trying new things. They might not work out, like yesterday, but I'll take this over Price doing the same thing again and again no matter how many times it fails.

Is this the first time they've faced a southpaw SP this season? Maybe the lineup seems weird because we haven't had occasion to see it yet.

    yes
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
