Bat Peraza lead off where he hit last year. Winker 2nd. Votto 3rd. Suarez 4th.
The rest can be whatever name you want to pull out of Billy Martin ‘s hat. Just not Rick Rhoden.

I had really hoped that we had gotten away from this "pitcher bats 8th" folly.

    Oh well....

There were 112 games last year that Peraza didn’t lead off. So it’s not like he was THE lead off hitter.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Maybe I'm not seeing the whole story, but Schebler hasn't impressed me one bit this season. seemed to be warming up. Schebler swings at the first pitch almost every at bat. Oh well. The outfield is hitting .176, .170, and .208. OPSing at .662,.496, and .569. Guess it doesn't make any difference.

    Touche’!

But I still think he would be a better option.
    Did he bat second?
