Sample has been getting very good reviews so far and is expected to play a prominent role this year. He's impressed with both his blocking and pass catching. It looks like we're going to be wrong for crushing that pick.

I also think Sample will be a good TE for 8-10 yrs or so...however not trading up for Bush hurt especially once Williams goes down. Would be nice to see the Bengals draft the LB and make a FA splash by signing the lineman instead we got Bobby Hart.

Word on the street is Price is going to be moved to Guard...no confirmation just rumors.

No surprise there. He only played Center his senior year at OSU. While he played ok, all the line looked pretty good until Eifert went out. Then defenses adjusted. IIRC, Price got really rag-dolled vs DEN.

edit: there was talk about him being better played at guard last season.

Jordan would be the starting center?

Hopkins was operating with the ones yesterday at Center and Jordan was starting at LG. I think Turner is trying some different combos, however Price has not worked at guard from what I have seen just a lot of speculation that he will be moved.

Jordan got screwed by OSU last season. For a number of years they have had the idea of getting the 5 best OL on the field, regardless of position. It worked the previous seasons with both Elflein and Price moving to C and improving their draft stock. Jordan is a 6'7" guy trying to play C and it really didn't work. Had he stayed at G, I think he would have been a much higher pick. When the Bengals got him late in the draft, I was pumped because he is the type of player who could play G in the league for a decade.

#Bengals are using Jef Driskel at wide receiver. He asked them to do.

There was nothing he could do to keep the QB position once they used a high draft pick (too high to cut) on a QB. But, this is very intriguing and would help if they went to an 18-game schedule. A hybrid QB/WR/RB position.

Bengals have found themselves a quality LG.

So, now they are set at LG and C.

They did it last year and got him injured:

Bengals QB Jeff Driskel has a broken arm because coaches asked him to take practice reps at WR

This is just more of Brown never eating a player contract. Former C Russell Bodine was a prime example. He was an absolute turnstile for 4 years of starting. But by gum, he is getting paid so he must play. BUF picked up Bodine last year and soon relegated him to the bench.

The Bengals will always be the Bengals.

He has good size: 6 foot 4 and 235 pounds
His 40 time is listed as 4.56

Trying out other positions like WR and TE might be the best chance for him to stay in the NFL.

Sure. But look at through the eyes of the owner: So far, Driskol has been paid $1,443,000. I have invested money. I will get my full value. So players stick around . Brown doesn't trade, and only makaes small splashes in FA. During the draft, they traded up, first time in years.

Always value, always a bargain. Sure he's injured, but it's a bargain.

Oh well...the B'gals are entertaining, if nothing else.

Bodine was set to start for them this year (may say more about Buffalo), but he got injured a week ago, one of three injuries to Bills' O-Line Starters.
