LB personnel still below average and guys like Malone and Mel Gray II have to start producing but I like everything else.

Of course everyone always loves what the Browns do every draft and the Steelers always kill it supposedly.

Which is good, I guess. Still... whenever I hear "good character" being defined as a primary target, I always think of:

Worst defense in football received little help in free agency (any starters? I think Webb and Wynn are backups) and little help so far in the draft Maybe our DC - Taylor's plan D or E or so - can take last years chicken spit and turn it into chicken salad but an upgrade in personnel would help. Forgive my cynicism.

I know it’s the sixth round, but I don’t understand taking two running backs.

projection...at that point in the draft you are looking for diamonds in the rough. Anderson was always hurt at OU had he been healthy he would have gone a lot higher.

Pratt will start at LB from the sounds of it...

You still have WJ III and Bates plus Hubbard Dunlap and Atkins...

Denard and Webb in the slot

Lawson is coming off injury as is Glasnow.

Wrenn will mix in nicely for the team as well.

Is it great no but I give credence to what Riddick said...many of the Bengals issues were not being able to develop guys. Hopefully this new staff can get more out of players.

Draft is a wrap picks I like:

Williams, Jordan, Pratt, Williams, Anderson, and Brown.

    Picks I am ok with:

    Finley, Wren

    Picks I didn't care for:

    Sample and Davis

Overall I thought solid draft especially on the O line getting Williams and Jordan is huge, Pratt is probably my favorite pick.

Love Riddick's quote Bengals were never talent deficient they have been developmentally deficient...big shot at the old regime.
Last year's defense made that really obvious. They were better at the end of the year, but there's no way a team with that many good players should have been so bad. Preston Brown is rough, but the Bengals are average to very good at every other position.

That’s what makes me wonder how Austin’s coaching could have been so bad.
What in the world was he doing to make them so bad.

Bengals signed Sterling Sheffield an interesting OLB from Maine who ran a 4.65 at his pro day...supposedly was the heart and soul of a very good college defense.
