    Reds @ Athletics - 5-8-19 Let's get a hit tonight!

I'm a fan of this lineup. Mix in Winker on the other days somewhere between 3-6 and you've got a nice stable lineup IMO.

No Winker and Dietrich even with the DH in play? Unless they are banged up I don’t get what Bell is doing. He sits one if not two regular starters almost nightly. Lineup construction is one thing but not having the best hitters in the lineup is another.

Peraza in that big outfield has me nervous.

I think it’s because the A’s are starting LHP Anderson.

He's using Hoyle's Baseball Strategy Guide that's telling him you never play a lefty against a lefty. You play the guy that's hitting a buck eighty-five and never walks instead...duh!

So Winker is still a straight platoon player even with Kemp gone? That is a problem.

it is hard to complain when Winker and Dietrich were in the lineup last night, and that did not go well....

If Winker is a member of the core for the next 5 years, which I think most would say he is, then he needs to be playing basically everyday. Better for him to keep getting exposure against LH pitching now then in a year or two when the Reds have a team that can really compete. Bell is in over his head IMO

Especially if he's going to be platooning with Peraza.

Then a guy who has 10K's (and 3 hit's,) in 22 ab's vs lefties, probably shouldn't be hitting second tonight then.

This 100%. Winker can only get better vs lefties, if he gets the chance to actually hit lefties. It's not like he is swinging and missing non stop like Votto vs lefties. He has 1K and 3 BB's in 13 ab's vs lefties. I would have kept my mouth shut, had the Reds not started a left handed hitter at DH tonight....................... but they did.

I think Bell's goal is at the end of the year is the 12 position players will all have an equal amount of starts.

A VanMeter sighting. He's the key to getting a hit tonight.
