Are you referring to their ballcaps? Or the cowboy hat that the poodle on their ballcap is wearing?

This raised my eyebrow in BA's report, where they still ranked Trammell as the best prospect traded yesterday:

"he...primarily played left field, where he is a below-average defender"

I kind of have to wonder where the big appeal with TT really does lay if this is indeed the case. Seems like maybe he could be Scott Podsednik? A guy who can hit a little and steal bases, but without much power (at least yet) or defense (this probably won't improve much).
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

His prospect ranking was always suspect to me. If you don't have at least 20 home run power you better have an almost Tony Gwynn like hit tool in your bag to be a top 20 prospect in all of MILB. And his hit tool is decent, but nothing amazing. He has a good eye, but I had mentioned earlier, guys don't walk a ton in the bigs without power to scare pitchers(or at least the great majority don't).

I had heard he was good in the OF other than his arm. So, that is new.

That is puzzling. I thought we was a fine defender with a sub-par arm that might keep him in left.

He somehow has 9 errors this year in LF. I don't even know how that's possible.

It’s almost as if TT isn’t good at baseball.

"X isn't good at baseball" is a phrase that I roll my eyes at, but it does look like he might have been overrated if he really isn't even average on defense and still hasn't shown off in game power. He's 21 though and I'm not writing him off.

I think I saw where the Pads are putting him in CF (in the minors) and one dougdirt24 was banging his head on Twitter saying his weak arm doesn’t matter out there.

FYI I’m not finding a report that he is going to CF so I may be mistaken but it certainly is being discussed.

The weird thing is at Dayton it looked like he was developing baseball skills ahead of schedule. Maybe he's been hurt all year, but that was an odd regression back into a toolsy, no production type.

Ya, he’s really quite brutal. At least he’s stopped tapping about collusion. Was embarrassing to read for a guy who understands so little about basic economics of sports.

My recollection of the scouting was that there was some power projection -- nobody thought he was Billy Hamilton.

At the time I thought maybe the Reds had hit upon a market inefficiency -- a toolsy hitter who because of a weak arm is confined to LF, but because he's not a power monster gets passed up.

I mean if he's Johnny Damon, I'm pretty ok with that.

0-4 in his SD debut, so we win the trade. And the Padres did indeed have him playing in CF.
